Rolex GMT 126719 meteorite dial

Hello,
I need some help..
Today my Ad called me ...that i can pick up a 126719 meteorite dial....
but i don't know is it such a great unique watch like a platinum Daytona?
I don't like standard Rolex pieces, therefore i have a special taste
is it worth to pick it up?
Is the meteorite dial so special, because you cannot order a meteorite dial when you only have a 126719 blue dial or a 116719, and do you think Rolex will not produce the meteorite dial very long...?

IMO the meteorite dial of the WG BLRO is more unique than the dial of a Pt Daytona

Unique dial....yes
Who knows how long Rolex will produce a GMT meteor dial. The PT Daytona isn’t really unique, there’s plenty of them out there, but I’d say it’s definitely special.

Things I’d personally consider first....what fits better in my collection, whether it’s a one and only, function needed, metal color, dial color, bezel material, etc...all come into play before rarity or value retention....and as always... If you like one vs the other...buy that one ......at least for me.
And this would hold true for a $50K watch or a $10K watch

Nailed it.

I voted yes, by the way.

This is my grail piece. This is from an article on Bobs Watches. I would not hesitate.

“The Gibeon meteorite is now protected by Namibian law, meaning that no one can further harvest it. Despite reaching an end in the supply of this remarkable resource, Rolex is still able to offer meteorite dials, as they previously procured some of most aesthetically pleasing deposits of the Gibeon meteorite (before it became protected), and have slowly been using their initial supply for the construction of their unique meteorite dials ever since.”

IMHO, there's something special about all/any Daytona - Platinum Daytona being the king.

That said, the meteorite dial GMT is so unique it gets my vote. They'll likely always make a Daytona in Platinum, not sure the same can be said about the meteorite GMT.

I would like to vote "Yes" but I still remember the first impression I had when I was in Basel the year that the GMT with the meteorite dial was first presented: it was very difficult to tell the time on it.

The meteorite GMT is super cool. I almost wish it was more blingy. If you going to put a Meteorite dial, put diamond hour markers or something

I'd say it depends. I think the watch is unique and special, but I don't feel the look comes together all that well personally. If it sings to you, definately get it.

I agree with richris1, the Plat Daytona is special but not unique. Lots of them around (especially when first released) and very close looking to all the other white metal daytonas. Beautiful, but not a piece where you would say it stands out if that's what you're aiming for.

My vote is to get the GMT. The meteorite dial is more unique than a platinum Daytona, which is rare to see, but not unique.

Would most certainly say the meteorite dial is more unique, as every meteorite dial is unique and one of a kind. While the Platinum Daytona there are many hundreds of them around and all the same in every detail. But
speaking for myself I always buy the watch I want to own and wear, and not if some thinks its perceived as having special taste or being unique.

There are also older Daytonas with Meteorite dial but the GMT meteorite is a keeper for me.

Was it released in memory of 50 years since moon landing, I think so.

If you have access to that watch new from an AD I wouldn't think twice. Extremely hard watch to get at MSRP. My dealer has some of the highest volume in the country and they've had one.

Platinum Daytona is a cool watch, but the meteorite GMT is on an entirely different level. #1 watch in the Rolex catalogue for me and my personal grail.
