Rolex as investment

New poster here. I'm researching alternative investment vehicles in order to diversify out of the stock market. I'd like to start with about $25K with hopes of acquiring 4-5 watches. I realize that may only get me 2-3 new models, but vintage may be better? I don't know.

I'd like to get opinions on how Rolex has held value over the years, and whether a new or vintage would be better. Any comments appreciated. Thanks!
