New Polo watches

Not only garish, but at a high price (IMO) as well.

All that's missing is the rider swinging the mallet as the seconds turn.

A bigly missed opportunity.

Dang, the Polo logo on the dial is bigger than the one on the shirt I'm wearing today.

Love the shirts, not so much these. Curious to see if RL himself would wear one on a regular basis.

Available soon at Marshalls, T.J.Maxx and Ross, priced at $19:95 (with about 5 markdown stickers stacked over the original barcode)

This is 'Polo' version and hence cheaper. The true 'Ralph Lauren' watches are still expensive!

Bvlgari? Lol. Bvglari is very decent watch brand now and its Octo finesse (in Titanium) is modern day classic!

A few years back I visited the Ralph Lauren Men’s Flagship Store on Madison Avenue. It’s a very cool space, more like a cozy mansion than a retail store.
On the ground level they had a glass counter with his more expensive line of watches. Not sure if they’re still made but basically a solidly designed semi-dress watch on straps. The main reason I went in that day was to see if they had one of the $8K diecast 1/8th scale models of Mr Lauren’s McLaren F1 LM they were selling back then. Of course they did and the salesman graciously took it out of its class case for me to examine.

The Polo logo is comical. Who the heck thought that was a great design?

Ralph as a clothing manufcaturer, car collector, etc is reeeeally great. My dad knows / worked with Ralph for many decades and highly respects RL.

(Deep sigh) But yeah, the timepiece thing, ummm, these are for the RL lifestyle.... those timepieces look about right. It's Ralph's expression of watch FASHION. As a fashion, i really like the 472836829001 (blue dial) and colored strap.

Ouch! Polo looks amateurish. What committee looks at that watch says “Oh yeah, people are going to buy that.”

The Reverso (owner of one speaking) runs rings around the Polo.

Wow. Who in their right mind would pay $2k for these? I thought "high priced" would be around $700 when I saw the first one.

I wonder how much Hodinkee received to put the review up?

Long time Polo fan, but these are a touch cartoonish. Especially at that price point. Some of his other watches are actually quite nice. I cannot remember who but a famous movement maker makes the movements for his higher end watches.

Did you see other RL watches? Expecting at $700 is hilarious!

Apparently! Although I actually kind of like the one below. Get rid of the giant "Ralph Lauren" logo at 9 o'clock and sell it for under $400 and I'd pick it up.
