Blancpain is adding another LE. Minute markers all around the bezel, small 40.3 mm case. No radiation re-issue ? |

Sure looks like it. You can see the no-rad on the dial.
Didn’t they already re-issue this watch like ten years ago? And how do you know the case size? |

So they have worked up the confidence to release a watch without Hodinkee there to hold their hand. Good for you Blancpain.

This will definitely use the 40mm case from the other recent LEs.

Spot on. I am just waiting to hear the name. Will it be "Death Valley Barracuda Diver" or "Save Sahara Shark Foundation?"

Seems like they are using the same bezel as the Hodinkee collab.

It appears that they have decided to absolutely flog the 40mm LE horse into the ground. I guess we can expect one or two a year now.

I guess there will be a date window.
Check out the teaser of the documentary which will accompany the unveiling. A no-rad with date is starring in the video https://youtu.be/aMExIZe4FLk |

Interesting...so soon for another LE but yeah its pretty clear from the website it is a no-rad dial and using the case size of 40mm which is only used for limited editions.
Looking at the handset, they seem to be using shorter ones than the hodinkee collab and strange that they are releasing a no rad dial again, someone mentioned that they did launch a no rad dial in 2010 (https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/th...radiation-dial) Would like to know if they keep the BP branding on the side of the case too |

If Hodinkee says yes, I say no. Their paid endorsement doesn’t do squat for me.

Can they stop with all the LE 40mms and just release a regular production 40mm with a newer movement?

I’m keen to get a 40mm fifty fathoms so I hope this is a good one. The lugs appear black in the image, surely not ceramic?
Also lume looks vintage colour like the Barakuda rather than the modern colour? |

Just add a 40mm as a standard model to the portfolio, and stop all the LE non-sense. LEs cheapens the brand, and history suggests LE strategies won’t end well (e.g. AP LE frenzy period & current Grand Seiko). How difficult is it to add a 40-42mm model to the line without drama?!

No date 40mm modern FF. Thats what I want at this point. They need to figure out how to make a tight bezel first

The whole watch industry has become overhyped. But I doubt it’s going to end anytime soon.

It will be the Fifty Fathoms No Rad 2021 with date. Took the photo from the Blancpain Instagram account.

Unfortunately, it will probably be powered by the 1151 movement.

I was waiting for a “no radiations” re-release, but I would rather have the 45mm instead of the 40mm here as I found my HODINKEE Mil-spec a bit small on the diver side.
I have a couple Blancpain Leman pieces at 40mm that serve that size very well. I will still focus on gettting a 45 “no radiations” to accompany my FF Grande Date. |
