Where to from here...?

Good day all.

My core collection, excluding some cheap but enjoyable odd balls, is now back up to 3 watches and tbh I’m really enjoying the variety that they give me.

To get to where I am, I’ve said goodbye to an IWC Pilot Chrono, a SubC (ND) and a BLRN; all moved on as a found them too big!

Given that I’m feeling pretty content with my collection, I thought I’d open things up for a bit of feedback from you all...

To assist my wrist is small at 6.3” and I generally dress fairly casually.

The only pieces on my radar are an AP15450 and a Daytona, possibly a WG Oysterflex or a SS.

Be great to get some thoughts from you all and no offences taken to my current collection if you wish to be critical (as I love them!).

Appreciated,

Niki

Nice collection Niki

A GMT or a Chrono would go nicely

Looks like a perfect trio to me...I would just rotate those beauties until another watch really grabs you.

A small wrist almost screams for a Daytona in your collection but at these prices, its not worth it. Honestly, you could "stay" and just enjoy what you have. All your looks are covered.

Great trio but with that collection and your wristsize I would go for a YG 36mm Day Date for the win!

You found the BLRN too big, yet one of your core pieces is a Sea Dweller? Interesting.

I just found the BLNR and SubC too square and therefore big which was ultimately down to their wide lugs. The SD4K honestly wears smaller than both these pieces with its more tapered/5 digit style lugs.

I’m honestly so content at the moment

That Nomos (Tangente 35mm?) is a beautiful watch...so clean, so simple. And the Horween Shell Cordovan strap is a pleasure to wear. Nice to see a Nomos between 2 Rolexes! Do keep it!

You have two of my favourite Rolex references, the latest Sea Dweller with the classic design and the Datejust 36 with jubilee and fluted bezel. I would go for the Royal Oak 15450 in 37mm which is like a 39/40mm Rolex.

Daytona is the perfect watch for smaller wrists!!! On the other hand it's perfect for any wrist. Daytona is always the answer.

Hey Niki,

I want to start off with that I love you collection. I want that Datejust for sure! I think if I were you I would be leaning more towards the Daytona as I am a die hard Daytona fan!

Good luck on finding your next piece for your collection!

Best,
Edward

My Nomos will be going no where and likely the same story for my 2 Rolex’s too. It’s the Tangomat so just over 38mm and a lovely exhibition case back showing the automatic movement. My serious watch hobby started with the Nomos hence it’ll never leave

Great collection as is, and the few watches on your radar are worth being disciplined to wait for/hold out for/pursue. I was thinking that a chrono would be a nice addition to your collection -- the Daytona would be a dream come true. If that is not realistic any time soon for you, and you'd like something now, the Omega Speedmaster FOIS or 1957 Trilogy would be a match for your wrist and be a great match for your existing collection (not to mention outstanding watches in their own right). Best wishes

Great collection and I love the Nomos! I was considering a Tangente Gangreserve. Probably letting my own bias show but have you considered a Batgirl or Pepsi GMT? I’m after one at the moment.

Thanks for all your replies and inputs.

A chrono seems to be a common theme which fits in with my Daytona desires. I better get saving, as I highly doubt I’d ever get offered a SS one and hence I’d rather have the WG Oysterflex version.

The above would have to be a 5-10 year goal so glad I’m happy where I am

How is it possible you've found Sub too big when you are ok with SD? I think you should keep what you have and don't buy new watches.

Have you tried the BLNR/BLRO on jubilee? I found it to fit better on small wrists.

I'm not sure if OF will wear well - rubber straps usually flare out a lot on small wrists.

I have the 15450 and it fit super on me (6.5").

I’m not alone finding that the SD4K wears better on my smaller wrists compared to a Ceramic Sub (at least the 11 series) due to the more tapered lugs on the SD. Have you tried one on yourself?

Seems strange to jump from your disagreement with the above to your suggestion that I should not to buy any new watches. That said, in the short term and whilst I save up some £££, I won’t be buying anything.

I haven’t tried either of the GMTs on jubilee and it would be good to see if I find that they wear differently to the oyster BLNR that I had previously as it’s a lovely looking watch. Food to hear your experience of these
