Am I being an F Boy? Batman vs Batman Jubilee

I was on the list for the Batman for 3 years, from 2017 to 2020.

I was fortunate enough to be selected to receive my Batman on the Jubilee in November 2020 - sorry never liked the Batgirl, Bruce Wayne is more like it but I also won't call the Sub the Starbucks either.

ANYWAY...

Listen, I love this watch and for all of the Instagram posts and pictures the watch is WAY better in person. The Batman oyster bracelet is more photogenic haha - it's hard to explain.

Anyway, here is my situation...

My goal was to always get this watch but for whatever reason I catch myself feeling like I didn't obtain my goal since it's on the Jubilee Bracelet - for whatever reason!

I have an opportunity to trade a watch flat out - box, papers, used etc. Equal trade.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

Buy an Oyster Bracelet and you have the best of both worlds.

I would do it, assuming the 116710 is in equally good condition. I prefer the oyster bracelet, too.

Buy an oyster bracelet and have the flexibility when you inevitably wish you hadn't swapped

I’m sorry... but I just can’t take any post seriously that asks “Am I being an F Boy?”

Buy an oyster bracelet and have best of both worlds. I know the oyster bracelet are expensive on the secondary market, but to me it is well worth it.

I like the Jubilee more, so I won't. But if you like the oyster more, I think that's a fair trade.

Assuming you bought it new from an AD, that would mean moving from a known quantity off the factory floor to a older very similar watch with an easier to see scratches bracelet & less power reserve movement. I couldn't do it.

97200 is the best since it's the Submariner brushed bracelet with the awesome glidelock.

I just sold mine last weekend but there may be more available here in the classified section.

I would absolutely do it if you are confident that the model you are trading for has been shown the same care that you've shown yours. Based on your post, it's clear you know exactly what you want and, especially with this type of product, that is what you should ultimately get.

The Jubilee is a very underrated watch among the younger crowd.

First, it was said that the bracelet was for old people and then came the claims that it was feminine.

It's a beautiful bracelet that is extremely comfortable, has a 76 year history with the brand, and adds a touch of class to any watch it is currently available on especially on the GMT series.

It also should be noted that if it were not for the placement of the Jubilee bracelet, the SS BLRO would never have made it to market.

Yes, go ahead in a heartbeat.
Now the oyster bracelet is reserved for a full or half gold GMT only.

To me, the oyster bracelet IS the quintessential Rolex identity...you see it from the SUB to Deep Sea to the Bat to the Milgauss..
I have the 116 and would never trade it for Jubilee bat...to me, there is no advantage..they both will last lifetimes and more..:)

Do it. You will have a discontinued model. A mint 2018 or 2019 Batman is trading on or above similar Bat jubilee. Totally different watch, it's not just the bracelet. Also better to get the real Batman, and don't compromise with adding the oyster bracelet. Will make it a frankenwatch

Jubilee only wouldn't work for me. Not certain that the Oyster works on the watch but I like the idea of having both bracelets. The jubilee shows scratches less but stretch more so it's a trade-off imho.

I always learn from your posts!

I don’t understand the last sentence here. How did the jubilee help the ss blro get to market?

Thank you!

I like the Jubilee better. Don’t see scratches as much. If I wanted an oyster bracelet I’d prefer brushed.
