I have not seen a more impressive drop. If by now you haven't been convinced of Breitling's resurgence, nothing will convince you.

Holy sh*t, Breitling just smashed a grand slam on the day before W&W!
I am seriously excited, I cannot wait to try these on. Yesterday I felt like the perfect chronograph just didn't exist for me, now I feel like there are too many to choose from! I might have to sell some watches to make room for that steel Duograph. |

While I wish they were 2-3 mms thinner, the dials are stunning in photos.
I will for sure be interested to see how they wear. |

If you look at the specs that Fred posted above, the domed crystals account for about 3mm of the thickness. I think (hope) they will wear thinner than their specs.

Based on your own collection, it would seem that most (if no all) Duographs came with classic round pushers, unlike the Datora which were (mostly?) rectangular as with these new references. I assume this was a decision based on efficiency and practicality when releasing these three references together, Fred... ? - Serge

ehm... no, that's just me being me, the two waterproof models (764 and 791) are much larger than the other references (38 vs 36mm) and much, much rarer, although all Duograph are very, very rare; so that's what I try to hunt and collect ;)

pushers: actually pump pushers (and even more screw down pushers, afraid I'll be crucified for saying this on a Rolex forum) are "lazy designs" with today's technology, but all Breitling had available in the 1940s to make the watches waterproof.
But flat pushers (to us) seemed much more elegant than round pushers in the prototyping stages - and today we are able to design these up to a 200m waterproof rating, so it was purely a design decision. |
