Meteorite Daytona

Afternoon all,
just been looking around on a few sites and noticed Watchfinder UK has just got this in....
its a white gold Daytona, Meteorite dial with Roman Numerals,
2002 but with no papers for £21k,
i thought these dials were pretty rare and big bucks?
ive never seen this dial on a Daytona before!

I wonder if there were any meteorite watches from Rolex since 2002?

That dial is beautiful indeed! Not common at all; not sure about the price tough. Have any pictures of what is included?

I own Pepsi GMT Meteorite and absolutely love it. BUT, this Daytona in my opinion looks weird, the red hands on white dial just dont look right imho.

I've seen the K serial Daytona 116519 in meteorite, that's circa 2001.
The dial is beautiful to look at, but don't count on using it to tell time. Here's my Z serial:

They are rarer for sure but don't seem to sell for much of a premium. You can see that by the pricing vs a standard PM daytona of that era. Great news if you like the meteorite though!

I'm waiting for my meteorite GMT, love the dial. The issue here (with the Daytona) is that a Daytona already has so much going on, roman numerals just aren't right...too much. The dial is great looking though. I don't know what these things fetch, but would be interested to know.

Having said all of this...I wouldn't chunk rocks at this thing at all. It is an interesting piece.

I think their Meteorite dials are absolutely beautiful.
But I always wonder, how they get all the material?

Do they own an apartment sized meteorite?

Where is the material coming from.

It is said that they purchased a large piece of the Gibeon meteorite from Namibia. That source is probably closed forever.

Can’t say I have seen this variation before, but no expert. It’s definitely different.

You better buy it before John Mayer buys one and it becomes unobtanium.

I believe it came from the Gibeon meteorite, which is now protected so there's a limited supply remaining.

Don't wear it when going to Namibia, there's an export ban on bits of the Gibeon meteorite now :-)
