Do I buy at 5711

I’m being offered a 2013 blue dial 5711. It’s being serviced by Patek right now.

I know the newer the watch, the more it’s worth. With it being serviced, I look at it like it’s new. Am I foolish is looking at the watch this way?

The Seller who is an AD is asking 105k.

Thoughts?

5711 is beautiful Nautilus, if you love it, go for it.

For me, I wouldn't pay $105k for SS watch (3 x msrp), I would rather go for complications timepiece at a discount from msrp.

Are you saying this is Patek AD who also sells pre-owned watches? Or is this AD = grey dealer situation?

But it's your money, so you decide if that watch is worth to you. I do think the 5711 is a beautiful and iconic watch, but not sure it's worth $105k to me.

If we say no, will you listen if you want it desperately like there is no tomorrow without it?
If we say yes and you feel it’s a NO, will you listen?

What's new compared to your "5711 blue for 105k" thread from 3 days ago below?

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=802972

That the watch is from 2013? Doesn't change what I said back then.

Buying a freshly serviced watch will give you piece of mind that it works and all the scratches are yours.
But spending that much on a watch with only the time and date is a sad state of affairs for the appreciation of fine watch making.
You could have a wonderful collection of watches for that amount, or just a one watch collection (which the Nautilus is for sure).
If it was my money, I'd buy a collection of watches vs just one that sells for triple retail.

Blue dial?

I prefer the older ones without the plaque for the name.
The cleaner Simplicity of the words printed on the lines for this model.

If you can’t find other watches or uses for the money then it’s a great deal.

not for me at this price, ultimately you need to ask yourself are you ready to part 105 grand for this watch?

To me this is just madness and overly hyped watch

An AD who sells a used 5711 for $105k is a joke. They won't and shouldn't be an AD much longer. What stops them from taking their new stock of popular models and cycling it through their owner's friends and marketing it as pre-owned stock. These "AD's" are just grey dealers.

In a word, YES. Get what you want. It doesn't really matter what everyone else's opinions are. I must say, $100k is a lot for a 5711, but that seems to be the market price nowadays.

I bought my Rolex GMT ceramic when it was $6,000 I wore it every day for 5 years and sold it for $11k. It felt less special at 10k then it did at 6k, thats for sure. I still dont get the hype but there will always be bag holders of some kind. Everyone is scared of "inflation" this month that is, and people really have no idea what the next year or two holds(most likely massive recession) Hype pieces can and will fall very hard and if you can stomach it, go wild. As someone said best on a YouTube video, if the new Cartier Santos went to $25k tomorrow, would you like it more?

Get it if you think it’s worth it and a grail watch for you. I don’t think it matters what year it is unless you are a collector particularly want pre PP Geneva seal as collectors item or the new movement which had very short run. Serviced and under warranty always good..

If I was buying, personally would go for the white one at those prices and save a bit. It also had shorter production run. Great legibility (find the blue dial bit too dark) and in person the white dial is really nice. I’m maybe bias as fav nautilus white 5711 and 5726!

Yes/No.. hmm.., not for me to say how to spend your dough. That sounds like brain damage money for a 30k piece. If that's the market then I'm believing more and more that the bubble does exist.

You got a way to buy it at 30k? How about I'll give you 50k, and you get me a blue, green, or white one for that amount now?!?!

There used to be a very easy way to buy a blue 5711 at 30k or less. If you liked the watch before the hype.

I believe many members on here got theirs at retail or even less back then.

Key word, used to be... Guess what... I got mine lower than that... However, unless he has a time machine... That 30k is just an arbitrary number... However my offer still stands... If he could get one now at 30k, I'd pay him 50k NOW... Wouldn't he be happy with that? I won't flip it

I would rather own a complicated piece at that price point. A total shame to spend it on a bland SS piece IMO.

Why would you want a second blue 5711?

Never been a fan of the nautilus but I get why people like it. Personally it's a 30K watch in a hyper luxury market. So many better choices for 100K.

Or passed as there was just no justification for the price unless it was your grail, think I chose gold Rolexes at the time, much better value for money, before a RG 5711 emerged for a very similar price to a gold Daytona on its debut, price could easily have been £5-7K more.
