Icon19 Patek shopping expedition

Y'all, here are some watches from my expedition at a local AD a couple of weeks ago. What started as a simple innocent 5205R enquiry.

I started my journey looking for 5205R black dial. Soon realized, right or wrong I prefer 5905R. Then saw the mesmerizing blue dial of 5205G, and then the exuberance of 5396G blue....now, y'all see what a dear Forum-er here referred to as moving goal post.

All expeditions are a moving goal post.

In my geography, we do not wax, so sorry for the wrist shots.

Hi llngoc, two rounds. first 5320G and about 3 weeks after 5905R

I have not gotten the 5205G blue dial yet. I adore its blue dial but the case and movement, etc. i prefer 5905R which is what i went with instead for the moment.

I'm sincerely dwelling on which blue Patek to get and end the expedition for a while.

You will love either. I started wanting 5205r, ended up with 5905r. One Patek AD in Europe i highly trust and respect thinks 5205r-010 is the most beautiful watch in the catalog.

Get both!

I agree as well.
5205r attracks me more than 5205g.
Speaking to my AD soon :)

What do you mean due to case and movement you skip over 5205?
Please share :)

I’ve been hunting for a 5960 1/a for a while. I got way too excited when I saw your picture!

That was a carrot. They were saying if i spend 100K with them, they get one for me. They were claiming it was for another person. Lovely watch. I prefer 5960a. Best to have both and more.

I think you can find 5960P for (about the) same price. If so, go for that unless you love the white dial which i do.

Are you looking for BNIB/unworn only? I see used ones come up here and there. DSW has one now.

It depends where you are, I saw 5212A available constantly in Paris, and I doubt they would keep a watch in case just to show it (as opposed to Geneva salon that allows you to try all watches from the current collection).

Love when op posts great pics. As I only have a 5800 that I bought 15 years ago- I’m envious and can only imagine the places and pieces you have handled :-)
