Daytona 16520

Hello everyone, I recently purchased this Daytona 16520 4-line white dial and wanted to ask all your thoughts on it and the condition of the watch. Anything I have to change (correct bezel, bracelet etc.)? Would very much appreciate any feedbacks I get. Thank you!

What's the beginning of the serial number? That's important to make sure the details of the watch match up with the year.

Otherwise looks like a nice MK2 dial with a 200 bezel. Some polish on the case, especially on the crown guards, which are a little rounded, but that's a nit-pick. Some minor loss of the bezel enamel. Hard to know for sure about the bracelet because you didn't post photos of the clasp, nor the model. Should be a 78360. Looks fine from a distance, and is correctly all brushed.

I'd double-check you can find another configuration like this. Often the MK2 dials come with the later 400 bezel, and the 200 bezels are on the MK1 "floating Cosmograph" versions, but presumably there's some cross-over.

Sorry, been a busy couple of days.

Thank you for your feedbacks, much appreciated.

I haven't got a chance to check the beginning of the serial number, I will do soon. Can you tell me what they should be? I have checked the bracelet and it is 78360.

With that dial, I believe it should be an L series serial number, although perhaps some cross-over with late R series. You need to dig around online to confirm.

I think Four liner and bezel 200 should be lower L

Thank you both. Would either of you be able to tell me what numbers are considered to be late R and early L? I'm not so familiar with serial numbers and what are considered early/late. Is there a page or anything online that shows the info for this?

Thank you again.

I have checked the serial and it is L479xxx. Can anyone please let me know if it is considered early L or not? Correct?

Thank you

For what I read on various books the limit for this configuration should be L5/L6xxx so with L479xxx you should be fine.
Congratulation!

Why don't you have a look at the bracelet clasp code? That will help nail down the production date range more closely.

Good advice, but that's only assuming the bracelet is original to the watch.
