Lang & Heyne Sports Watch

Just figured I'd call attention to a great brand branching out into the realm of sports watches.

Lang & Heyne are a small brand, but have a great pedigree and their finishing is among the industry's best. They've just released their first sports watch. 3 dial colors (blue, grey and green) limited to 33 pieces each.

Lang & Heyne Sports Watch

I’ve always wanted a cock on my dial. Now it can be so.

I have a nickname for this one. The flasher.

Changing the bracelet, guilloche pattern to something like a windmill that you see on the Breguet marine, and a few other design tweaks would have made this a lot better imo.

Movement side is perfect.

I like this a lot, except for the cut out, the manual movement and the lack of lume.

Lol of course I bought that immediately. It’s a conversation piece in client meetings.

This watch isn’t too shabby. I think 16900 eur or thereabouts. I just saw an opportunity for a joke is all.

The Germans must be into mythology. First Odysseus now Hektor. I’m going to hold out for the oedipus by glashutte original.

People have suggested that bracelet (or really any other bracelet) for the ALS Odysseus.

Liking them.

Is this a strange case of blue not being the best colour, maybe even the “worst” one?

I don't like it honestly. That hole in the dial is a nonsense IMHO and for a sports watch I expect and automatic winding movement, the less I fiddle with the crown the better.

I understand that they wanted to give a clear look at the movement but they could have gone with a peripheral rotor instead.

I totally agree - additionally IMO the bracelet looks dated and don’t think the hands fit the “sports” style . There is just something “off” about the design languished to me .

I want to want this.

But I do not. Sadly.

I really want to want a Lang & Heyne sports watch.

Mixed feelings. First impression from photos is a No. But I will see the actual piece irl before judgement.

Svend Anderson was putting cocks on dials before most here were born. It’s something we need more of I think.

I love Lang and Heyne watches but, like Lange, I'm sorry to see them jump on the steel "integrated" bracelet sports watch bandwagon. Save for the open part of the dial, it's not a bad looking watch but this really should have an automatic movement and a screwdown crown.

I like it but I feel it’s comprising.

I don’t think the movement has the wow factor I expect from the brand from a finishing POV.

But with such a small run will they be sought after?

Not an attractive watch in my eyes.

Small run but they may still not be easy to sell.

Agree. I understand why they jumped on the sports watch wagon, but it’s too off-brand to me and I wish they didn’t feel like this was a necessary step to take. Same with Lange. Same with Urban Jurgensen.

Fair point. However, the Odysseus from Lange is very much on brand and you can clearly see the Lange DNA...
