About the 5164a
Since the watch has it's 10th anniversary this year, I wonder for how long Patek will keep making it?
I haven't seen any incomings for this watch for a while and wonder if they may discontinue it soon? I am by no means trying to create or spread rumors but it just seems likely to me. The question is what would they replace it with or how would they update it? Thoughts? Pic just because: |

I hope they release one in WG blue like the 5650G but without the exposed movement. That would be ideal.

Hopefully they keep it active as I've been trying to get one for the past three years or so.

They have added additional models to the aquanaut line up.
My feeling is it could be discontinued in a year or two… But only Patek knows.

At the time I bought mine, I chose it instead of a 5711. As much as I would love to have purchased a 5711 back then, I still would not give up my 5164 for one. It’s my go-to travel watch that’s also very comfortable and stealthy. I suppose it will be discontinued at some point, but I hope not because I honestly feel it’s the very best GMT in existence.

Definitely my grail, although it seems highly unlikely that I'll ever get one for retail!

Fwiw, I just received a 5164a from my AD this past Saturday. Incredible timepiece. I haven’t gotten around to doing an incoming post yet, but I’m sure I will by this weekend, with pics of course.

It is funny, never liked this watch. I know ppl loose their marbles over it, but I choose the 5167 over it on a bracelet in a heartbeat.

My Favorite Aquanaut. I wouldnt doubt they discontinued it. PP seems to be upsizing all the new models. 5164 and the 5167 are only ones left at 40mm

I am afraid you will probably be correct. I really don't want them to be increased in size, they're great at 40mm

I predict they will make it for some longer, although as someone else mentioned above, they may come out with a larger diameter version like the 5167 vs 5168.

Who knows except Patek, but the do keep so,e models for a long time.
The 5712 is still goin and it is from 2006 and the 5196 was from 2004. I wonder if anyone knows what Patek model was in production for the longest time before discontinuation |

I’ve had mine for several years now
It’s indestructible and a great sports and travel watch But I’ve always found the rubber strap uncomfortable I used to love that I could travel with it under the radar Those days are long gone now! |
