Rose Gold Tarnish Question
From what I understand, PP's rose gold alloy has a tendency to tarnish over time....this is simply a product of the copper added to the gold that causes this. I have read that this tarnishing can be easily removed with a polishing cloth, or just through normal everyday wear. But, if the case oxidizes over time, won't the rose gold hands and indices tarnish as well? In other words, at some point in the future, will there be a discernible difference between the coloration of the case and the handset/dial, since the case can be rubbed clean, but the dial/hands cannot without service?

It's normal for PP to replace hands during service. Many manufacturers do this. Of course you could request to keep the stock hands. On some models, PP changed the (smaller) hands on sub-dials to something different as i recall. So be alert if that's the case and you want it 100% original look/parts.

I would be curious to know how often do modern day Patek's tarnish as well. I would've thought that as long as you keep in a room temperature place there shouldn't be much of difference/effect.
