Which Yacht-Master?

Hi

Given the choice between the rhodium & blue dial Yacht-Masters, which one would you choose & why?

Cheers

I chose blue but can't go wrong either way.

I chose slate due to wearability, however, if you need a blue watch in your collection then go for that.

If I didn't have a blue dial Monaco I would have probably gone for a blue dial YM40 instead of slate..

I've never been a big fan of rhodium dials on any watches, and for some reason the light blue seconds hand looks feminine to me. Not sure why, as the watch itself certainly doesn't.

Blue for me. In pictures I always preferred the rhodium, but in person I found it very washed out.

I know blue is better at the end but my eyes say rhodium.

Is it the cobalt blue you are referring to?

For that particular watch I think rhodium/slate is the way to go. The blue is really sharp looking but I feel like the dial distracts from the rest of the watch. The watch looks more cohesive with the matching dial/bezel IMO.

Rhodium...

Looks like a much more expensive and high end piece.

Rhodium.
I've owned both, I like the blue in the pics but in real life out of direct sunlight it's actually very dark and doesn't go with the case and bezel, the Rhodium on the other hand matches perfectly

I voted blue but I also did got caught up in the blue dial thing and now I don't like blue dials at all. It's kind of like getting it out of your system first, then moving on to more tridtional dials. So you may end up buying blue but then selling it down the road.

I voted Rhodium with my wallet. As others have said the blue looks great but because it contrasts with the bezel it makes the dial look small and the bezel big, whereas the rhodium is monochromatic. Also be away how much the dial responds to strong light. It goes from fairly silvery grey indoors to dark moody liquid grey - almost like mercury. I love it. The rhodium is more serious and the blue more playful and it depends what else you have in the collection. I have a blue Datejust so it's an easier choice.

Exactly what happened to me , wanted to get the blue dial but I’m hand the dial looks black unless directed at sunlight. Rhodium all the way !!

I am a big fan of the Rhodium since you get that pop of light blue color on it.

I mean, the blue is awesome as well. Don't get me wrong. But the Rhodium is just a notch above for me.

Exactly this. Also, compared to the slate dial, I find the platinum dial (discontinued) even more cohesive as it's the perfect match for the bezel. I really have a soft spot for that monochrome platinum look that almost disappears on the wrist, I find it classy. Slate is the next best dial for the YM to me.

Yes, 100% and I also owned both. First blue but was underwhelmed. Now I have rhodium and it is a keeper. Would not sell it for twice what I paid for it (and I paid over MSRP)
