Explorer 11 226570

Am I mad? I am fortunate to own a number of popular Rolex Models including the GMT and Daytona but the black dial Explorer 11 seems to fit so well and feels the most comfortable and best looking watch I have been fortunate enough to own.
Maybe everyone to their own but I am very satisfied and fortunate to think this model is the one that I feel most happy with.

You are not mad! I am in the same situation and like the 226570 very, very much. A great and good looking watch.

The new black Exp2 is a great looking watch, although less tool looking than its predecessor, in my opinion. I have a GMT and Sub, but my polar 216570 gets the most wrist time.

I love my 226570 Polar. It's my only 40mm+ Rolex, which is my preferred size. I like the slimmed down case vs the last one. I had both side by side and the difference was noticeable. 70 hour power reserve and running less than +1 second a day. Winner!

Not mad at all. I love my black 226570. It’s less bling / hype beast than other modern Rolex.

It’s much cooler / understated and very very comfortable.

It could actually be my exit watch

No you are not mad... Congrats on finding your favorite.

The hype has everyone frothing at the mouths over like 5 models instead of really asking themselves what their favorite is. I'll give them this though... how the hell would they know which their fav is without trying. and until a couple months ago, you couldn't try anything on without being a vip and them showing you what has already been sold.

I was fortunate enough to get a couple pepsis, i let them go each time to some friends. I thought the BLNR was much more wearable regularly.

I've been offered submariners 4 times in the last year. Not for me.

It’s a fantastic watch and I agree there’s something about it that just feels so right on the wrist!

Thanks for the comments ,a week on and still haven’t let it leave my wrist.
I agree it goes under the radar and is a very comfortable wear.
It goes well with casual wear or business attire in my view.
For a mid range sports model I think it really does have its place as one of the most modest professional models and is good value. Does the forum concur with my views or disagree?

You’re not mad by any margin. The Exp II has always been in the second but last carriage on the Rolex hype train, but there is no logical reason for this (after-all the hype train itself is illogical).

The EXP II in 42 mm is a beautifully balanced watch on wrist. Slim yet flat with perfect lug proportions. The large dial is super legible, as is the omnipresent imposing GMT hand.

Its a very attractive watch that doesn’t get the love it deserves. This happened with the 5 digit too, but as we’ve seen there’s been a renaissance of love for that 40 mm piece years after its production ended.

It's a great watch, been saying that for years. Glad to see more people appreciating just how great it is.

I have a 226570 too. I love it. Only thing I'd like is a slightly bigger crown but that's just because of my big fingers and that I'm used to my DSSD.

These watches are totally undervalued and under-appreciated in my opinion. I love them. I have one from c.2002 arriving this week. Cannot wait to wear it.

I would agree with you on fit on the wrist. Must be a certain wrist size that this works for. Could be the tapered bezel that is radially polished. Great watch…Enjoy!

Funny how the one's with the daily increase in market pricing, heading into la-la land ..and beyond at the moment, are not always the most loved .

I get it .

My 116660 will forever be the one I grab first .Its just "me",that one.

I need to try out the 226570 one of these days. I had a 21570, at one point. The 226570 changed the exact things that kept me from loving the 216570. Beautiful watches.

In my wife's opinion, my polar exp II is the most versatile watch I own.

She ask me quite often to take swap my gmt/cermit/daytona for the exp II.

I think I may have to try to add the black dial exp II next.
