Very cool watch actually. Robert Jan has a great hands on already.

Great looking watch, but priced for a very small production

The same would allow one the purchase two day-dates and a 'regular' hesalite speedy. I know what I would do.

Looks fantastic but I am confused by the pricing! From an initial look its nearly twice the price of Canopus Gold Moonwatch. I feel that will need explaining.
The Canopus Gold is amazing when you see it but £12k in my money for the steel 321 to £70k in the Gold is troubling me. First world troubles I know!

I like it, but when I saw the price it’s a NO. £69500?! What are they thinking?!
Even a full white gold Rolex Daytona is only £32450.
Seriously, Omega is doing a great job with the products, but their pricing department needs to get a grip. If it was 25k I would get on the list for one.

Yes, missed that, also this :

On that sapphire crystal, you will find a laser-engraved image of the mythological sea monster, the hippocampus. The eye of the hippocampus, however, is a blue sapphire stone set into the crystal itself. Blue sapphire refers to the 65th anniversary, of course. Omega used Liquidmetal technology for setting the blue sapphire inside the sapphire crystal. First, Omega engraves a cavity in the crystal with lasers, then presses a heated amorphous piece of platinum into it. The blue sapphire stone is then placed within it. This type of closed setting is patented by Omega.

Nicely done but still cannot really justify the price....because price is an overall image

I am an Omega fan and am really into the Speedmaster lineup, but really? Ridiculously priced with no justification other than what they set. It is not the movement, the WG case and bracelet or any other item on the watch that I can see justifies anywhere close to this amount. Yes, someone will pay it and others will desire it but this is an example of what is wrong with the Swiss watch industry. Is it necessary to price gouge? Some will say it is fine, others will say too high but justified. OK. So many other watches from other, and arguably, better brands such as Rolex, PP, AP, VC that are bringing better watches to market for less. Many at Grey pricing are still less. Maybe my expectations are too great for Omega and many of the watch companies but I would speculate that these decisions are not being made by WIS inside the corporate structure. I will enjoy my 1861 and my 3861 and sit down on the rest.

I agree. Raynald Aeschlimann has to be smarter than this man! Come on, the Speedmaster has so much potential. The Snoopy and EW321 are examples that Omega can go head to head with the Daytona! This new 18k 321 is a great watch, but its gonna be so low in demand and the value is gonna tank so hard in the secondary market that people just lose interest in the watch and the brand itself. WTF is he thinking?! F**K!

Beautiful watch, bonkers price (even with the onyx dial & Grand Feu enamel bezel.

I would choose the Apollo 11 5oth anniversary Speedmaster and 321 in SS and still have cash in my pocket....

I'd still take the platinum 321 all day long over this...the size alone I can't stand but that's me and I get why they do it...it's just too small for me.

If they'd just make a platinum bracelet for the 321 platinum I'd be stoked...I mean I like the strap but would love the bracelet.

Agreed. I love my Platinum 321.

I wish they made a Platinum bracelet, too. I asked. They don't. And they won't. :(

Yeah I asked a bunch of times and they want to keep platinum for their "top tier brands" which is nuts...especially since I have a full platinum bracelet on my platinum seamaster 300!

Couldn’t agree more. Maybe throw in a 60th trilogy if you are dead set on the look. You’d still be saving thousands.

I will say, I do like it however. Just not the price.

Honestly it’s beautiful, if not a bit steep in price. But, I think I’m starting to see Omega’s direction for the 321 movement.

CK2915 Broad Arrow - Canopus gold
CK2998 Wally Schirra - ????
105.003 Ed White - Steel
105.012 Professional - Platinum

I’m willing to gamble they do the CK2998 Wally Schirra next and it will be Sedna gold. That’ll be stunning.

hmm, would have hoped for a more accessible piece on a first Tuesday. but then again, it’s a show of force and we got the 3861 last year. pricing is definitely something to chew on

I thought, wow, my next Speedy, for the half second it took me to click on "Reveal the price" and then check that this was indeed in USD. Come on. A Canopus Speedy + SS Ed White comes to what, $55k? What are the other $25k for?

Speedmaster 321 in Canopus Gold announced

Omega is pricing this model as they would wish gray market would price it. They are absolutely delusional.

Noone and i mean NOONE is buying this Omega over a PP 5172 VC Cornes de Vache or a Lange 1815/Datograph.

This makes the AP Remaster 01 look like a bargain…and thats very hard to do.
