Incoming and a Lesson

It’s been almost 2 years since I had an incoming and In that time frame I let go of 3 watches, one of them being my Exp2 polar. It was the watch that got me excited about watches as a kid and have always loved. I always thought the 42mm version I had was a bit big which is ultimately why I let it go. However, my collection never felt right without an Exp2, so decided to pull the trigger on the 16570!

Now, the lesson. I went back and forth about what to do given the crazy prices these are going for today. Especially, the newer 3186 versions. However, It’s a weird thing, but I really like the engraved rehaut and the only way to get that is to pay up. Fast forward and while I had to pay a pretty penny to get exactly what I wanted, it quickly didn’t matter when I realize that I was able to fill a gap in my collection with a watch I love. The extra couple of grand in the long run just won’t matter and once you put what you love on the wrist, the “investment” value just doesn’t matter.

Now for the customary wrist shot

Congrats! That's the only older reference I am specifically interested in for a Polar Exp II. 16570 with the trusted 3186 movement. I see we're both in KY - what part of the state are you in?

Congrats. Great score. As far as the money goes, not compromising on a luxury watch purchase is far less expensive than compromising.

Looks great! Really like the size of the 16570 over the new model.

Congrats on a wonderful watch.

Great looking watch. A lesson I need to learn.

The 16570 polar was always one of my favorites but I never owned one. I had a 216570 but didn’t really bond with it either. I need to just do it eventually
