VIP References

We are all aware of certain references which are neither showed in the official website nor make it to the official catalog.

How can these models be ordered?
Are exclusive to certain ADs and they are offering to VIP customers or what?

Are there VIP catalogs with the full model lists?

My AD has a full catalog that contains all of the current references. I asked for a copy, and I was politely told no :)

I am not a VIP and I wasn't aware of additional models available. I do know that not every reference is listed in the official catalog, but thought that every available model is listed on Rolex's official website?

I am interested in hearing about these other models. Following your thread!

All ADs have a master catalogue with every Rolex watch in.so that any Tom,Dick or Harry could place a order for any watch listed there with the cash.

Is there a paper master catalog? Each time I go into my AD and we get to chatting, the SA whips out an iPad for references.

Do you know if they must be ordered?

Because I am informed that watches are allocated in a "random" way to the ADs.
I am sure how to exactly say this but what I mean is that they might order some watches but Rolex will sent rhat they want from that order and might throw in some other watches too.

Ah yes.....I've seen postings and discussions on these models. Definitely rare, unique and expensive! I never have really paid much attention to these as they are not really my style, but more importantly, not anywhere near my budget either! I just assumed that these were always listed on Rolex's official website.

Thanks for posting and starting this thread. It's always interesting to find out new and interesting quirks and "trivia" about Rolex.

Exclusive timepieces aren't listed in the catalog. Rolex boutiques/ADs get these timepieces in random. I got offered RG GMT Master II with Sapphire and Ruby bezel (126755SARU) and I took it.

I am not quite sure that you can order and get it in certain time period. If you really like to own those timepieces, you should let your AD know, so when they get it, they will give you a chance to acquire it.

That is what I think as well.

Of course some high profile ADs might have easier access to the allocation but such timepieces might end up to a random AD anywhere in the world.

My AD said regular AD's can get the lower tier off-catalogue gemset pieces but the exclusive ones are for boutiques and VIPs only.

Lower tier off-catalogue gemset are like the pave dial DD and Yachtmaster and the higher tier boutique pieces are like the patriot GMT and rainbow Daytona.

I'm actually quite fond of a factory gemset ruby and dial daydate 2 and the set of 3 Pearlmaster sapphire 39's from the 2000s.

You have to be offered/invited to purchase medium to high tier off catalogue pieces (ie. SARU, Rainbow).

A friend of mine a few years back ordered the platinum president with Diamond mid link band, Diamond dial, Diamond bezel and Diamond lugs from an AD. They also got a scarf as swag too
