Where to buy advice

Hi all,

I am interested in the new Seamaster 300 and have read often on this forum that I can get up to a 20% discount on Omegas generally. I've looked around online quite a bit and I can't find any ADs or grays that are discounting and the only AD in my area is the Omega boutique and the don't discount at all. Any suggestions on gray dealers or ADs that sell Omegas that might discount would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance!

The days of deep discounts on omegas are gone. I’d try an AD who carries Omega, might be able to get 10%. Boutiques won’t discount, but will probably throw in some swag.

You can also look at the "For sale" section here or the omegaforums for gray dealers. You probably won't find 20% off anymore but like kearez mentioned, 10-15% off is more likely.

I would talk to two people:

Rob Caplan at Topper Fine Jewelers (he's not active here but is well regarded by the Omega regulars at WUS).

Erik Szper at Radcliffe in Maryland. He took really good care of me on a steel Omega De ville Tresor a couple of years ago.

Let us know what happens, but don't feel like you're being mistreated if a discount negotiated today is smaller than legend would have it. As others have mentioned, it seems like things are a bit different today than a couple of years ago when 20% or more was the norm.

The Omega boutique nearest me didn't offer a discount but they did offer to "throw in" the OEM deployant strap if I bought a PO on the bracelet...

It depends what specific model you want and the market you’re in. In 2020, I got a $1,000 discount on my Speedmaster. Last October, I couldn’t get a discount on the blue dial Seamaster. ADs basically said, “if you don’t want it at this price, the next guy coming in will.”

Last year, when it was difficult to get a decent discount from an AD, I ended up buying my Speedy 3861 Sapphire from a national jewelry store chain (Jareds). They gave me 15% off before I even asked for a discount.

This. I’ve had good experiences with Rob and his staff at Topper Jewelers. Exquisite Timepieces in Naples has helped me in the past. My preference is for Topper’s, however.
