Need help with buying a Speedmaster Reduced

Hey there,
I’m a newbie to Omega watches and I’m looking to buy a Speedmaster reduced (the Moonwatch is just too big for my wrist). I found two different watches from a local seller. First watch is a late 90’s black dial with original box and card. He’s asking US$2500 for it. The second watch is a full white dial with black hands without box and paper. The asking price is $3400. Both watches are in good conditions. So my question is which of the two would you choose? I personally love the white dial but having no box and paper bothered me a bit. Also is there a way to check if the white dial is a legit factory model and not a swapped dial?

I can't help you with advice on which to buy, though a white dial would be nice... But I have tried on the Reduced and it wears small. Just know that. I have the 42mm moon watch and it doesn't wear as big as a 42mm because it measures the asymmetrical case in the spec... the bezel measures close to 40mm, so I think that is why it wears smaller. I think that would be the case with the 38mm Reduced. I thought it wore more like a 36mm watch. This may be OK for you though.

I will agree in that I wish the Speedmaster was 40mm (with crown guards). That woulld be the sweet spot.

If you like the white dial and box/papers, wait for one!! Why just pick from 2 watches when 1000's are on the market?? If the seller can't answer your questions about the dial, find a new seller.

I actually took your advice and went to the Omega boutique and tried on the 42mm 3186 Moonwatch. The new bracelet made the watch a better fit for my tiny 5.8” wrist than a 40mm ceramic Submariner and a 41mm Tudor Blackbay. I ended up buying the Moonwatch without a hesitation.

Yes the bracelet is designed to not have the end links protrude out, making for a much better fit in my opinion. The tapering is perfect, I know it's polarizing and some don't like it.

Its surprising how well the 3186 wears on a small wrist. The subtle changes they made are great

I am a big fan of the 3510.50 that I proudly owned for many years. Really elegant looking dual. Great size. Look it up. I personally would always go black dial for my first Speedy.

Is that a little high for a speedy reduced? I have seem them in the 2k range.

And I agree with an earlier comment. They do wear small, but you may already known that or tried them on. I was surprised because 40mm isn't necessarily small, but they for some reason seem tiny.

The 3510.50 was almost 38. Lug to lug 47. Not too thick. Light as a feather. So it does seem tiny compared to heavy modern watches. For example my 40mm Speedy Racing is far heavier and thicker. Big difference.
