Rolex OP39 Rhodium: next in line go crazy?

Have always been a fan of this piece....the OP 39 114300 in Rhodium with the Turquoise hour marks. Recently the price has risen sharply and I think it will continue to go up to at least 15K soon.

At the current price and availability I think it's a great entry level piece for someone who wants a Rolex and needs to go aftermarket. I'm not sure how long that will remain the case though.

I paid 5500 new for mine in 2018 so I'm not too worried about my investment. Bought 2, a Rhodium and a blue face. Gave the blue to my son when he graduated dental school and giving the rhodium to another son in 2 years when he graduates medical school....perfect starter pieces.

Pretty sure these will never be sold again.

I call this rhodium with blue markers the Detroit Lions watch. The blue OP 114300 watch withe the green markers is the Seahawks watch. Lol

I do. Very much. That's why I bought this watch quite frankly.

To each their own. Some folks like diamond bling and I hate that shit.

It will rise. But the fact that it took this long to rise after the tide is enough to say it’s not a hype watch.

Another lame my watch will be going up in value next thread, I wanted one at a point it was around $4k but I passed, it felt very entry level to me compared to other Rolex SS Sport models.

All the entry level Rolexes have gone up a good bit because it's an entry into the brand for ppl who don't have $40k laying around for a Daytona.

My favorite OP of that era is the 34mm Olive. I hope they bring that back as a DJ41 or OP41.

(maybe even a Milgauss)

While a great watch don’t think it will go up more more. It feels very entry level and no where near the quality of a sub or gmt. for 15k plus you are approaching gmt and sub category which are much nicer watches IMO

I have Sub, Daytona in SS and PM, Sky Dweller etc. and to me the OP feels every bit as high quality, solid, well made and all that other good stuff as any of the other pieces. It's a bit simpler in design and function which is absolutely fine. The dial is gorgeous and it's probably the most comfortable Rolex I own and the movement is on the same level as the Sub no date. As an entry level Rolex it's really nice and the nice thing about the Rhodium is the way it seems to match and almost take on the color of the clothes you wear. It's almost weird how it does that. For a 20-35 year old who wants a GADA watch without being too flashy this is perfect. You really don't want to wear something too obnoxious when you are a young doctor or dentist for example so this is under the radar and perfect really.

As far as price....I don't see it going beyond 15K. I already do see some in the 12-13K range on Chrono24 but I doubt they'll get it.

I also doubt you'll be able to get one for under 10K in a year.

Seems like just yesterday that dealers always had an assortment of OP’s in different sizes in the case. I always liked the rhodium, the green, and even the grape. A good friend of mine’s brother from New Zealand was visiting one Christmas and was sporting either a 36 or 39(?) grape. Almost as bold then as the turquoise is today.

The grape is not so rare on Chrono24.

https://www.chrono24.com/search/inde...ccessoryTypes=

But plenty of Rhodium as well and about the same price as the grape....

https://www.chrono24.com/search/inde...ccessoryTypes=

All of the OP39s appear to be pretty easily found on Chrono24 in the 9K to 14K price range. But they are going up over the last few months.
