When will Tudor Royal become an "it" watch?
Just occurred to me, with all of the hype over integrated bracelet watches, particularly those available in blue, why'd the Royal stayed relatively quiet? First there was the Nautilus and Royal Oak, okay, fine, those are what they are, but with Tissot and even Timex borrowing some of those design elements, I'm surprised that the demand hasn't increased for this less-than-sought-after piece.
And no, I don't own one I'm hoping to sell . Just curious how it meets so many "hype" criteria but hasn't become a "victim" yet. |

Doesn’t do anything for me. Can’t stand that bezel.
It’s also in a weird middle ground, IMO. Tissot and Timex are cheap enough to satisfy some peoples’ itch. The Tudor is still expensive enough that those same people won’t go near it.

I like the idea of this watch, but don’t love the execution. I prefer the look of the tissot.
Agreee on the bezel. Would’ve preferred a fluted bezel. That said, it is a nice watch. Just not for me. |

Hope it stays quiet, I'd like to get one someday.

Just need a few Tik-Tok and Instagram influencers, with a push from the usual hype sites. Get Putin to wear one on-camera.

The Royal is a well made watch that looks like a cheap watch. Wanted to live it but it seems like it was purposely neutered with an cheap looking bezel and ugly numerals. The result is a very high quality watch that looks like a very low quality watch. If I wanted a cheap watch with the 1970 integrated bracelet look I would get a Tissot PRX.

When will Tudor Royal become an "it" watch?
It looks cheap like its predecessor, the 1831.

Not even remotely expensive enough to become cool. Hard to flash $2,570 and seem cool.

I like the general idea of what the Royal is doing (ie: date + day, integrated bracelet) -- very cool. However, something is a little off IMO with the current iteration...something about the spacing of the elements on the dial is not quite optimal. It's probably a good thing that it is not hyped; those who like it have a much better chance of getting it.

I can't see this ever being very popular. That bezel isn't helping it win sales.

Too feminine, I gifted the 38mm and it's a girl's watch, plus I think watches need in-house movements to be considered it nowadays.
