Custom GP Timepiece
First, am already a bit 'extended' with incoming over the next year... yet was asked today if I wanted a custom GP. So, how badly did I mess up by passing on the very kind offer? Is there something I should consider and circle back?

Dunno, the offer was asked without much detail. My AD knows I'm pretty much, ok who are we kidding, I'm deeeeeeply committed to a few pieces, plus our main chat was on another topic. So it was more of 'just' a passing comment / offer.
But man, I'd have to sell a kidney(!). Added: Took a look at their timepieces, yeah, I best pass as am mathematically balanced right now (with availability if the Rolex 36 TIF for my Muse arrives). Besides, I have crazy timepiece ideas that would be highly detrimental to my HODL strategy.

The GP skeleton is awesome. Right up there with the non double balance AP skeleton, imo. You’ve been on a roll, my friend, so I say (depending on the customization offered) it’d be something to consider!

Get a Casquette 2.0 to scratch the "unique" GP itch without breaking the bank:

Oh a unique GP would be pretty damn cool! I've always wanted one of the skeleton iterations, but now that they're sorta hyped up by TPG and whomever else.. kinda lost the urge

Well, we have a Laine Willy Wonka coming, so two purple dial timepieces are perfect for his / hers. Ok, my Muse / wife 'stole' the Laine out from under me, but she is Mrs. Right.

You, yes you, you are evil. Great idea and a bit mischievous, yet evil nevertheless.

Can not believe you missed out on the opportunity to recreate the iced out "example" Anthony from TPG is so smug about... /sarcasm
I do like their 3 handers, although would certainly reach for the Czapek you have on order before it. |

Thx Nathan. I like a lot of what they do, and the below is exactly what I'd go with. Ok, maybe a cool black dial with the same color minute lines as the RD.
The vintage RD is something I'm going to hunt down and get at some point, passed on it new when first released (was at Bellagio store near the lobby back then, under the glass, just sitting there... and is one of those that got away. I say 'no' more often than I should, then kick myself later. The RD is the perfect example. Maybe the GP offer will be another bonehead 'no' by me. 1436424902.jpg 157.jpg 800onge.jpg

The RD is very interesting, it's the first time i have seen the metric system incorporated on a dial!
Or, perhaps i have not been looking hard enough! |
