3230 Movement Squeaking

Hi everyone, I am a relatively new member to the forums. I have recently gotten into this hobby. I have only had two mechanical watches a Tudor M79540-0006. I recently got a Rolex Submariner 124060. I love the watch but I have been finding the watch squeaks when I rotate my wrist. It is pretty loud compared to my Tudor. I was wondering if this is normal or if it is a problem with the 3230 movement. The watch is only a month old.

It’s the wonderful new bracelet squeak that indicates extremely tight tolerances. Unfortunately, it will eventually go away and be silent. Think of the sound as a new car smell.

The bracelet can squeak and that goes away pretty quickly.

If you’re doing a controlled rotation back and forth and hear an abrasive squeak that’s the ceramic bearing on the rotor. It’s louder than older movement rotors but it requires less service and it’s more durable over time. I can hear it on 3 of the 32xx movements I’ve tested. It’s no big deal. I can only hear it in a quiet room with my watch to my ear when I rotate my wrist.

I can also hear the escape fork hitting the balance. Tictictictictictic. I think it’s kinda cool.

That's exactly what I am doing. It is good to know its not me. I was scared that something was wrong with the movement but it has been keeping good time. Perhaps my problem is I compare it with my Tudor. The movement is quiet and the bracelet has much larger tolerances which never squeaked.
