The best watch roll for your Rolex

I am looking a watch roll (2-3 watches) but there are too many options and need some advise. Which one has high quality leather, soft velvet pillow and protective liner? Post your watch roll and your Rolex here please. TIA

I’m confused but I’ll answer, anyway.

Carapaz is what I use.

This is the one!

Soft leather with the soft interior. Designed to look like a vintage Porsche interior!

I got this Mirage but the suede where you take and put the pillows in and out is already fraying after less than a year of usage.

Buben Zorweg traveller, probably the best quality you can buy and makes for a nice stand as well

If you want leather you have many options. I don’t like cushions that snap in. I went with a Carapaz 8 watch case and it is super nice. Option was for Epsom leather. Hermes uses this is they product line amongst the other 9 leathers. I would buy again for sure. Seems like a good case with leather is about $100 per watch.

Here’s a photo of where it is fraying. I’m a little disappointed. I guess it’s up to you if you want to return it.

+1 for Carapaz. I have three watch rolls from them.
It’s Swiss, they use very high quality materials, the founder is a designer who actually designed travel cases for AP and PP.

I’m looking at this exact one right now … would you say it’ll handle a 47mm Pam Radiomir?

I’ve narrow down to 2 brands Everest and Carapaz version 2. Look like Carapaz is the winner due to lower cost and able to display the watches on top.

I bought this for just $60.00, on Amazon. It’s real leather and it’s very nice.

Per the Amazon description, that is “eco friendly protein leather.”

Protein leather is not real leather.

Does it matter? The inside is suede/fake suede regardless of what you buy. If you use it enough, it's going to wear down. It's material science. The rail system that a lot of the higher end rolls use will result in wear and tear in the suede. If that wears/tears, then you have to replace the roll eventually. You might as well go for the pleather option. If the internals are not designed to last, it does not matter what the external material is made from.

It doesn’t matter to me since I didn’t buy it. But I think someone should know what they bought (or didn’t buy for that matter).

Did I press somebody’s button? lol

No, you didn't, but as an engineer I always find myself chuckling when people try to mention quality without looking at the weakest point of failure in the product. Watch rolls, rubber bands are a common example of this. In this hobby, knowing the material science of certain materials goes a long way.

These conversations almost always go to the highest bidder when there are many alternatives that will do the job just as well for a much lower price. It's like some just want to flex and have little concern for pragmatism and conscientious use of funds. I've got two rolls, one is genuine leather and the other genuine synthetic dino material. They both do a great job and both well under $100. If anyone wishes to believe that paying more makes a product take care of a watch better that is their prerogative.

I never said anything about quality.

I think most watch rolls will suffice. I’d rather the Carapaz be polyurethane leather and be cheaper, but it’s not. I went with it because it’s the only roll with its design that I’m aware of.

Agreed. My opinion is always pick the cheapest watch roll that does the job without compromising significantly in terms of wear and tear. It is a disposable item and I'd rather keep the extra towards the funds of another Rolex or a beater watch.
