What exactly is the difference
between the 93250 and 93160 bracelet?
I know the SD bracelet has polished sides. But from there I don't understand it. I have a fake 93250 on my SD and I was just curious. TIA. Mitch |

Don't know anything about the fake, but basically there is just one tiny difference between the 93250 (on the Sub-date) and the 93160 (on the SD)!! The 93250 has 4½ links on the '6' side, whereas the 93160 has 5 full links on the '6' side. Also, when you buy an SD, you get an additional link marked "L" (for Large). This additional link comes with its own lug pin and can be screwed on to the flat link marked "S" which is already in the barcelet. Also the SD comes with the special screwdriver for this purpose. Special additional "L" flat link with SD purchase...this is to be added on in case of extra thick diving suits for very professional use only. 99.99% of us will never use this link!! Special screwdriver with SD... SD bracelet 93160 in profile. Note FIVE full links on the '6' side... Sub-date bracelet 93250 in profile....note 4½ link on the '6' side...

Excellent answer JJ,and some of the aftermarket bracelets now have the divers extensions links as well.If your bracelet is not marked with the Rolex logo then its a aftermaket,I would not call it a fake.

Thanks, Padi. But I don't quite get one thing. If an aftermarket bracelet does not have a Rolex logo and has NOT been manufactured by Rolex, doesn't that make it somewhat on the same level as a fake?

Well my personnel definition of a fake is anything thats marked with the company logo. That is made to deceive that it is a original item, but myself have not got any problem with looking like, or a homage to the original.

Agreed, and I wouldn't have so much heartburn about the bracelet if it didn't have the crown. Thanks for the input. As far as links go, I have larger wrists so link counts don't work for me.

Hi TNRonin,
Out of curiosity, why did you go with using a replica SD bracelet? I'm guessing you want to preserve the genunie SD bracelet? Did the bracelet also come with springbars or you're using the gen spring bars? Regards, Vernon |

Vernon, that is a good question. I'm in this perdicament due to the fact that the person that had the watch originally is a watch maker that had to sell the bracelet for some funds. The bracelet was subsequently replaced with a fake one by the guy that bought the watch from the watch maker. He was given a bracelet, but also bought one (higher quality) Knowning the history of the watch I then traded a 14060M for the SD w/o an authentic bracelet. I ended up with $2775 in the SD w/o the bracelet. The watch was in VERY good condition and is a 2000 model. I reasoned that I needed to snatch this one up before it went away, I know the guy that had it and he won't keep a watch for more than a couple months.
In fact he will be selling the 14060M ASAP when the price increase occurs I'm sure. The quality of the bracelet(s) is quite nice. You can't tell it from a real one unless you know Rolexes. I make it a point to tell people that the bracelet is a fake one. Frankly, I can't help but wonder if Rolex isn't outsourcing these things. I compared it to a 93150 (IIRC) and we couldn't tell a difference with the exception of the fact that it is a copy of the 93250. Mitch |

Thanks Mitch. I guess the only difference is the metal quality ie. amount of nickel on the rep bracelet.

Vernon, that is the sad part. This bracelet is wearing (not showing scratches) as badly as the authentic one I wore on the 14060M.
I voiced this to my wife, BUT I told her, it is not authentic and I know it. Call me stupid. |
