I was born in 1963, the same year as the Daytona. I don't own a 1963 Rolex Cosmograph, later to be termed the "Daytona", but I'm proud to own both white and black 116500 references, especially this year as the Daytona turns 60 (like me).

That’s a perfect association post OP. I too associate my age to certain references and have purchased a birth year 5513 to commemorate both by passion for Rolex and my entering to this world. While I was born a few scant years after you, I would still need to be in Daytona 4 digit territory for it to be a true birth year. I am looking, mind.

While I absolutely love the watches in my collection, my very first love was the Daytona. In my late teens gazing through a Rolex AD window there was a solid gold leather strap zenith alongside a SS white dial. I remember saying to myself “one day you’ll have one of those”.

The rest is history. If I had to sell all my watches and keep just one, it would be undoubtedly a Daytona

I too was born in 1963. Congrats on turning 60 and congrats on your twin Daytona. I was trying to ask for one from my AD in Boston and he said It would take up to 10 years for me to get one.
