Choices.....

Hi Gang. Just want to say first that everybody on TRF is great. I love reading the threads everyday to see what people are up to....

I am looking at getting my 4th Rollie...and I have a dilema.

I have narrowed it down to 2 options.

Option 1....TT Daytona (black or white dial..another dilema for another thread!)

Option 2....TT Yacht Master(dial color..see above)

I love them both, but I am seeking professional help...so to speak.

I have a great AD here where I live and he is giving me a great price on both. If you had the choice..what would you get??

Hi there. I think we need to know what the 4 brothers look like before suggesting.

Larry, you should know better than to ask this group for an opinion. If you have 10 members respond, you'll get 12 different opinions - JJ alone will have 3 opinions.

You really have to try them both on and give them a test drive. Only you will know ultimately which one is going to smile at you more. I will tell you, though, that a black dial chrono is going to be very hard to read, unless you will never use the chrono (which is quite likely IMO). And that's the voice of experience speaking.

Neither is really my cup of tea (I've had several black and white dial steel Daytonas and ended up selling them all because I just have to have a date function) but if I had to choose one I would take the blue dial TT Yachty.

Why fret. Just get both. It's only money.

I think, like others have said, you gotta go with the one that jumps at you the most.
Now if I had to make the decision I'd get the Daytona. Lot harder to find and a lot easier to get rid of without taking a hit (you'll make money) if you fall out of love.

H Larry,

They are both superb looking watches. The TT YM is NOTavaialble with a black dial - only 4 colours: White, Blue, Grey, Champagne.

The TT Daytona in black dial would be my choice. But YOU would have to check which one smiles most at you.

Good luck in your final decision.

Cheers - JJ

With the SS I would say Blk Dial all the way, but with TT the lighter coloured dials look better IMO

Here are some pix of the family....

2 brothers, 1 sister and a cousin(not in the photo. 1986 Tudor Sub)

I think the Daytona would fit in just fine.

With that collection, you definately need a TT and whether or not it has a date wont matter since you have others that can fill in for the days and times where you really must have a date.

I say TT Daytona White face since your watches have dark dials.

I have a white TT YM--great looking. I have a steel Daytona and if I were to do it over might go with black

I had a chance to go to a local casino today. They had a large Rolex dealer right outside the casino...go figure. They sold nothing but Rollies......about 200 on display.

I went in to look around and they had the new GMT II anniversary in both TT and Gold.
I must say, after seeing that.......the YM and Daytona may have to wait alittle while.

Have any of the TRF members bought the new GMT? What are your impressions......
I thought it was awesome
