Hulk pricing 2023

Looking at getting a Hulk. Currently working with a local jeweler who gave me a price of 18k. I haven't tried negotiating down yet. I know at the high these were selling for north of 30k. Curious what the people here think of a 17-18k price point. I know these were going for 14k not that long ago. Thanks !

Welcome, when you have a moment you should read the forum rules.

If it’s worth it to you, whether at 14k or 30k then sure go buy a watch.

If you’re asking if you can sell it for a profit later on you’re barking up the wrong tree.

Good luck.

IMO it's worth what you are willing to pay for it. There is not a set price for a discontinued watch.

Thank you for the warm welcome and wise words. No I'm not in the market to buy and sell and retire on an island. But I'm certainly looking to make sure I buy it at the right price. Just like anything else.. buying stocks, classic cars, or even a home I'm not looking to overspend just because i like the watch. I like the feeling of buying something at the low and having it appreciate. There are people here who know this market better, where its at, where its been, where it could be going (speculation). I'm in no rush but I'm looking to buy towards the low of this price correction.

Keep in mind they could always re-release it with a new movement and size. There is no guarantee that it will stay discontinued.

Hulk pricing 2023

I haven’t paid much attention to the 116610LV market but 18 seems low. Maybe they’ve dropped more than I realize though.

Box & papers?

It’s discontinued and see little chance of it dropping to 14. Or dropping much at all.

I think it’s a safe buy at this point.

seems like a good price. i have seen wholesale hulks selling in this range as watch only with no papers, etc. If you are getting a full set I think it looks like a decent deal.

Yeah, just checked. 18 is def on the low side. Local jewelers tend to over-list on price too. I’m guessing there are some issues.

I’d be open to paying a bit more and getting an excellent example.

You may want to instead consider the Submariner that some call “Starbucks”. 126610LV. They appear to be fairly easy to get at retail price if you get on the AD list. If you buy at retail, you need not fret about market fluctuations. Especially since Hulk bottomed out months ago. Good luck!

Welcome to the forum.

I’d use Chrono24 as a gauge to pricing. Then I’d deduct the roughly 6-7% fee that they charge. Then figure on negotiating a price from there.

Bottom line, if you find a good example that you feel good about purchasing, you’ll know of it feels like a fair deal.

Best of luck

Great advice. The current LV imo, is the best of the trio. Imo!

Would also get you “purchase history” with an AD.

Thanks for the input here everyone I appreciate it. I've been talking to two separate dealers locally. One has box and papers at 19k the other is at 18k. Neither of them I have tried to negotiate down yet. The one at 18k has " recent years box, and appraisal papers" I'm assuming those aren't the papers most people want when buying a Rolex? Just to be clear I've been a watch enthusiast most of my life and have been getting more involved in building a personal collection the last few years with some higher end watches so I'm not super educated on this stuff. I've done my homework for the most part and ways to make sure I'm not grabbing a fake. Thank you

You may also want to check out watchcharts dot com. (I can’t post links yet). Useful site for ballpark pricing. Good luck! Great watch.

Have to see the condition but 18k is a good deal in todays market, esp w/ B&P and brick and mortar store. Its been going up and sure it could drop again, but I doubt it since these ups and downs are continuous for several months, we havent seen anything go up one month and then drop down the next, then up again etc.

Hulks at 14k is a huge stretch imo, last time it was 14k was 2019 before discontinued, now that its discontinued there would have to be some type of economic disaster. That would mean cermits, batmans at 12k which basically means retail + tax and no longer flippable. Then subs and the rest way below retail and available from ADs all over. Cant see it but if interest rates keep skyrocketing who knows.

18k is pretty low according to recent listings - box and papers important imho. And nobody knows where values will go.

If it’s value to you, go for it.

LV easy to get, I keep hearing you guys but the ADs saying something else! This rumour started a few guys bought it and showed everyone? Sounds like some people looking to make a bargain.

I can only say one thing about buying grey. I would only spend money I do not mind losing, kind of like going into a casino.

On the flip side, this is a discontinued watch never to be produced again. It is not some ultra rare piece, but definitely is a popular watch (especially once they axed it!) You have to decide if you are OK with spending what is almost double MSRP and any losses that may come with an unpredictable market.

Personally if it is something I saw in person, love it, and will never sell it I think just go ahead and find the best example possible (full set, non-polished) as you only live once.

Releasing with new movement and size means a new reference. It will forever be discontinued as a 116610LV.

True but most prefer the new 70hr reserve movement and even more prefer the size and proportions of the 12 series bracelet and case. If the hulk gets re-released I could see prices coming down for the 11 series, probably similar to the 11 series batman, trading in the 12-15k range and perhaps worse in a down market.

How successful have you been timing the stock market? If you’re 100% on all your trade them I should give you a free watch for one pick

20k for a full set 2017 in pristine condition is what my AD is asking now. If you can get unworn @ 18k hop on it!
