why not buy the CPO from rolex ADs? that's the only way you can be sure that the watch is authentic and not stolen.

The trusted sellers around here are just that - trusted. Some are even brick and mortar and a single fake sold could ruin their entire business. I'll tell you one thing, the grey customer service is second to none, especially when compared to some AD's.

Obviously do your due diligence but don't be so afraid of the grey market.

For my first Rolex I had a very average experience at the AD. Ended up walking out disappointed and contacted a trusted seller on here. The experience was night and day different

Walking out that AD and buying from a trusted seller was a move I have never regretted

From a warranty and authenticity perspective of course yes.

From overpolishing a scratched up watch and calling it mint not so much.

This is inaccurate. There are plenty of good dealers in the secondary market who know how to authenticate a Rolex and don't deal in stolen goods.

And how about buying a Rolex from the original owner who purchased at an AD? I'd say that's a great way to know the watch is authentic and not stolen.
