16570 Polar Authentication

Hi all,

First-time poster. I am seeking help to determine the authenticity of a 1991 Swiss T<25 Rolex Explorer II 16570. The seller is on Ebay, which I normally don’t trust, but the authenticity verification + the fact that I know someone that works at Ebay that could help escalate any issues gives me some peace of mind. The seller mentioned this piece was serviced by Nesbit's in Seattle by the previous owner. The seller offered a discount in what looks like an attempt to move the piece as fast as possible. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Edit: Mistyped the title - should be 16570 as stated in the post

Must agree from the image supplied the Serial Number engraving seems fishy? Can anybody with more experience please confirm or deny?

"STAINLESS..."

First letter S look off, actually the entire word look like hand engrave. The letters aren't line-up evenly

I’ve never heard of knock off explorer II except for this but it’s so painfully obvious.

Idk. The hand stack + hand length + lug holes + the fact that it’s a trit 16570 would make me day it’s legit. Just a little weird in some respects.

I would pass unless you can have it authenticated and then return in case of a bad outcome.

Thanks for the replies! I ended up getting the full serial number + service date. I spoke to Tom at Nesbit’s to confirm that the watch was serviced by them. He told me they don’t service fakes and that everything was 100% real when he serviced this piece in March ‘22. He also has notes that describe some markings on the dial and lume (hard to see from the photos) that are consistent with the photos.

A lot of those on this forum who just shout "fake" at every watch here basically just want to be in the gang and mostly don't know shit .
Especially with older watches as older manufacturing technics were much cruder back then and as they were considered as tool watches and not jewelry so numbers not sure exactly lining up were of no consequence

Again I'm no expert. But the serial numbers and the word Stainless Steel look okay to me.

Are the end links stamped 501 B?
Didn’t look to be but the photos viewed on my iPhone aren’t big enough.

Whilst this looks ok to me, there are some good 16570 fakes appearing as there is a pretty accurate replica case out there now, which means many of them have genuine dials, crowns, etc. making it very hard to tell. Be careful out there.

I can post pictures of the bracelet later but both end links are stamped 501b and 73860. The clasp also is stamped with 73860 and S4 in the upper right corner. I took this watch to Feldmar’s in Beverly Hills to have them adjust the links for me and I asked them to open the case. I was able to get a look at the movement and stamping on the underside of the case back. The watchmaker there confirmed the movement is real and everything looked like what I’ve seen in pictures online.
