I have been on the list with my AD for an OF Daytona. Got the call today for the new model, but had to decline because it has the diamond markers. It’s a beautiful piece, but just not for me.

Bit disappointed. I’ve been waiting a while and when the AD popped up on my phone I was very excited. I had said I would take either black or steel dial. I guess I haven’t explicitly said I wouldn’t be interested in a diamond dial… I just assumed that we were talking normal markers in our discussions.

Back to waiting, hopefully doesn’t ruin my chances moving forward.

Shouldn't be. Just get what you want.

Sorry that didn't work out after waiting. I think you did the right thing to pass as the diamond markers don't really suit that watch face imho. Your AD should understand your preference if they are reasonable. Buy the one you want and be happy. Good luck. Cheers

I hate how the ADs seem to intentionally offer you something that’s “close” to what you asked for - but not what you asked for - then guilt you into buying it. I suspect this is so they can sell you at minimum two watches - the close one and the exact one.

I’m not a fan of the diamond markers either.

It shouldn’t. I think the AD was hoping to get you to settle for one close to what you wanted. I would imagine the diamond markers are not as popular with most guys. Good luck getting the real call.

Hopefully, this doesn't affect your chances moving forward, and you'll still have the opportunity to acquire the Daytona with the dial of your choice. Communication is key, so perhaps clarifying your preferences with the AD could help avoid any misunderstandings in the future. Hang in there, and hopefully, you'll get the watch you've been waiting for soon!

this feels a lot like an AI reply
