Scraped my Tank
Man I got this watch on 9/12 to commemorate my baby girl being 9 months old and hopefully I’ll one day give this to her as her first adult watch.
However, I’ve only been wearing it a handful of times and it’s so light that I don’t even notice that I’ve scraped it on something. Kind of a bummer. In all my years of owning watches with dings and dents, this has to be the worst. You can feel the scratches. So should I just leave it? Or hit it with a light buff? I don’t want to blame my daughter but she might have already decided she wanted the watch and was handling it for this to happen Haha. All comments are welcome. Thanks in advance everyone. Looks like an easy polish job without the detriment of rounding lugs...I'd polish no questions.

Go to your AD and ask for polishing. After that everything will be fine

It looks fine. I would leave it until a service is due.

You're fine, it's easy to have polished during the next service. My wife battered one of the lugs on her Tank XL.

Is service necessary on a quartz movement? Just realized it was my baby’s car seat. The handle is wrapped in leather in the center but the edge feels like sandpaper. I was reaching back to entertain her while I was in the car and when I brought my wrist back I guess I hit it.
So ironic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

As others have mentioned don’t stress it’ll come out with a polish

I would keep it until it needs a service. Every good watch needs a story to tell...

I’d wait, there will be more to follow.
Especially since it doesn’t sound like your daughter will be receiving the watch any time soon |

Pretty awesome input everyone! I almost took a cape cod wipe it to. However I do have a memory of why I put that scratch there and it was caused by my crying daughter. It serves as a pretty cool reminder. I might just leave it on there and let her decide if she ever wants to get rid of it. That is about a million years from now anyways.
