Looking for 38-39mm watches. Budget 2-5k. Help me find some.

Looking for good brands with heritage similar to Tudor, Longines, Omega.

My ideal dimensions are 38-39mm case, 45-47 lug to lug and less than 12mm thickness.

Looking to spend 2-5k.

Currently own:
Tudor Royal
Tudor Black Bay 39 (36/39/41 non-diver version)
Omega Aqua Terra
Longines Flagship Heritage

I'm open to other Tudors, Omegas and Longines as well any any other good brand, preferably Swiss.

Thank you in advance.

In the $2 - $5 range (perhaps closer to the low end) I can highly recommend Nomos watches. Made in Germany with in-house movements, they offer remarkable design, quality, performance, and excellent customer service, all at what I think are reasonable prices. Browse their site and see what you think, but if you become interested then check around with brick-and-mortar ADs because some wheeling/dealing is usually possible on Nomos watches. I can refer you to my local dealer if you get to that point.

I have a classic Club with Caliber Alpha in the original, 36mm case, and a Ludwig neomatik 39. The Ludwig looks a little larger on the wrist than the 39mm stated diameter because the dial extends all the way out to a very thin bezel. I love these two and wear them often.

+1 to Nomos, what a phenomenal brand. Your money goes further once you leave Switzerland for brands in Germany.

Zenith’s new Revival line drops heavily from MSRP towards $5k aftermarket. Unique case, iconic dial design, and incredible Swiss heritage. I’d go for the A384 or A385.

A preowned IWC Mark XV pilot watch would fit the bill in terms of size, 38x10mm and around 47mm lug to lug.

Great tool watch with a fabulous bracelet if you get it on the pyramid bracelet. Alternatively it came on a calf strap with deployant. Best is to have both.

My vote is for Grand Seiko. Diameter slightly above 39, but OHHHHH those mesmerizing dials!. Many choices preowned for under $5,000.

I greatly enjoy the Omega CK859 although it has been discontinued. You may have some luck on the used market, but it will may be very slightly above your budget.

Oris Propilot X. 39mm, 12mm thick and about 45mm lug to lug. If you like titanium, it is very comfortable on the wrist

If you can stomach the wait, and want something different, how about a Anordain Model 1 Fume (your choice of color).

38mm
46mm lug to lug
11mm case depth
Movement is a Sellita SW210
$3428 + VAT.

but you're really paying for is the enamel fume dial.

At this level, you have to consider Baltic.

Once you know about them, it will be hard to consider others.

38mm, 5k on chrono24, incredible bracelet, high horology. Good luck finding anything even remotely close for the price. You can thank me later.

I couldn't agree more, the Blancpain Leman series represents some really good value at 38mm sizing, with a mix of both sporty and dress.

I also like the Zenith Revival Chronograph, Omega Speedmaster reduced & Cartier's Santos Dumont.

Late nineties Gerard Perregaux. 4940 Traveller 38mm (not 4935 which is 40mm). Lots of dial colours, great complications and well within budget

I adore this watch. Keep hoping for a special edition for my city.

I do strongly suggest Nomos. Great design with a fair price.

At the entry and top end of the mass produced market you’ll do well with the Germans

I think you and others have nailed it for great brands in the $2-$5k price range. Longines, Tudor, Omega, and Nomos are solid options that punch above their price. Used Blancpains are also incredible quality for the money.
