Incoming…the “other” Panda

Having owned the previous generation SS Speedmaster (hesalite) I ended up moving on to the current reference because I loved all the new changes they made - dial, bracelet, and with less milky ring effect, I knew I wanted to go sapphire to see the new movement (hacking seconds for the win). In the process of purchasing the SS speedy from my AD, the Sedna gold Speedmaster on strap really caught my attention. It oozed class. While I was able to resist at that point, I had gold in my brain. Don’t get me wrong, the SS speedy is a classic but the precious metal ones are just off the beaten path, while still remaining a “classic”, which I’m really leaning into in my collection journey.
Visited several AD’s the past few months and during those visits I had the opportunity to try on all the precious metal Speedmasters. When I saw and strapped on the moonshine panda…it was game over. No contest for me. Fast forward to today, and after back and forth on bracelet vs rubber (documented here on TRF)…pumped to start an incoming thread for this latest addition. It’s a beaut.
Modern with a vintage vibe. And in my personal and humble opinion, beats the Daytona on so many levels.
Some “pics won’t do it justice” pictures! The hues of gold to pink of the dial is tough to capture.

Fantastic! My love for this piece is well documented on this page. This watch does everything right. Omega knocked it out of the park with the panda. Congratulations!

Thanks everyone…yeah, it’s feels and looks pretty special. I love my 126618LB but this will naturally get a bit more wrist time. Having that sub made the bracelet vs strap decision a bit easier.
The honeymoon period has been short thus far but the strap is quite comfortable…watch feels very balanced with the gold deployant clasp.

One of the few PM pieces that I would actually buy and wear. Beautiful.

I am obsessed with this model! I finally tried it on a few weeks ago and it blows away the Daytona. That dial has so much depth and Omegas rubber straps (I have my SMP 300 on the rubber) are far superior to the Oysterflex nonsense. I added a Ed White in 2023 so wife says i have to wait til 2024 to add this Panda. Wear it in good health....

I absolutely agree that this reference, hype aside, is aesthetically commensurate to the Daytona.

It's an absolutely fabulous watch, and I hope you enjoy it to the fullest!

Congratulations, I love this piece! I’ve been resisting temptation since trying it on as well! Love my 3861 SS which got me started with Omega.

You bet. Glad you are happy with it. Yeah I'm afraid it's just a matter of time before I pick one up. I am looking for the bracelet model with the intent to add the strap. The wife has already given her blessing so it will happen sooner or later...
