Last incoming of the year for me…promise

The call for this came unexpectedly. No expectation that I would even be considered for an allocation of this piece. I’ve passed on the previous generation twice in the past. But with the new updates and honestly more due to just an overall change in my tastes and collection, this jumped to the top of my wish list. In this case, third time was indeed. Charm. And when my AD shocked me with a call, it took me just a day or two to make a decision. Per my poll, needed to move some pieces around but in my opinion, this one just feels special. Stickers haven’t even come off yet but had to post the incoming pic.

Here’s to a long honeymoon period….

Lovely! I handled one last night at a watches & whisky event. I wouldn't call myself an OysterFlex convert now, but definitely OysterFlex-curious. It certainly is something special.

Love this one! I was interested in the RG but since it was discontinued, this may be the next one. Enjoy!

I think it will take some getting used to do to the fins underneath the strap, but all the oyster flex converts love the comfort. Obviously far from a long-term review but so far so good for me.
This is all purely opinion, but I think this updated version looks and feels a little more dressier than the outgoing reference. Maybe dresser is not the word… but perhaps the slim down markers and the absence of the black on those markers, nd the added “shine” from the metal surrounding the bezel, make the Dial a bit more brighter and dressier. Again, purely my own opinion.

When I had it, I loved my 116519LN. For 3 years, I was fine and then I decided it really is a tough watch to read and lume, for me falls short of Rolexes best (Sub, GMT, Explorer II).

That’s a sweet incoming. Congratulations! Other than the previous generation Paul Newman, this particular reference is on the top of my list.

Thanks all! Finally had a minute (or two!) to take all the stickers off. I’m likely going to have my AD order me a shorter strap as I’m already all the way at the end/tightest point on the glidelock. It works, but could probably tweak the fit a bit as I prefer a snug fit on my watches generally.
The fun’s underneath will take some getting used to visually as in pics, the straps look like they are protruding and bit snug in the wrist.

Beautiful watch. Congratulations!!! I'm still waiting for one. I'll definitely take the stickers off if I ever get one though.

This looks incredible. I don't think there is a better metal, dial, subdial, bezel and strap combination in the whole catalog. The combination of all those things just really hits so perfectly.
