I imagine it’s one of those watches that is truly incredible in person.

A ‘if you know, you know’ watch. For the person that wants to stay under the radar.

Scooped up mine yesterday and the forums have been very kind. When I learned what model my AD had gotten I was disappointed that it wasn’t a baguette dial.

I definitely don’t feel that way after seeing it in person. It’s a real piece that only watch nerds will notice. The dial is VERY responsive to light, and can look almost silver in a darker setting - making the markers really pop.

For me, the feel of Platinum is what does it for me. It's almost electric.

Based on how my platinum ring has worn, I’d love to see what a platinum DD looks like with regular wear.

Mine has been very close to a daily since the fall and before that was a DD 36 for over a year. So I think they wear pretty well and sturdy.

My platinum ring is really soft also and it’s main reason I am not that interested in a platinum watch. I would beat that watch to hell and back if I tried to wear it a lot.

I think my 36mm WG version with the glacier dial and fluted bezel looks more balanced than the 40mm version.

Nice shot, Jocke. I didn't know this reference existed in white gold.

It's not. This is a regular Ref 18039 in WG with a glacier dial from a Plat DD.

I have owned several over the years and have always enjoy them but move them along after awhile. No problem but a lot of money to have tied up in a watch that only get limited wrist time. I will probably circle back around at some point and do it all again.

You beat your watches to hell and back?

Why?

Am I the only one who likes the glacier dial with diamond baguettes? Stunning in person.

I much prefer the sticks over the Romans on this dial.
