Video comparison of the differences between new ref. 126500ln Daytona vs. 116500ln
https://youtu.be/WkZ3BhywVCo?si=dDBLPWRmA0vHlUNp
I personally own this new reference Daytona and much prefer it to my old 116500ln. All of the subtle changes are great but the main thing for me is the more substantial case size. I have a large wrist at 7.5inch so this is such a win for me as my favorite steel watch can FINALLY look like it properly fits on me. I always felt my old ref. looked alittle too small on wrist no matter how much I hated to admit it. Anyway I just thought some of you guys could benefit from this video. |

I've had both. I much prefer the 126500. I would have no problem if I only had the 116500, but if given the choice, new one for sure. The white dial is incredible. But the key is to see it in real life. In pictures or on video, sometimes it looks ... weird. The ring, the case profile, etc. But the second I actually put it on, wow. Tiny little changes lead to a huge upgrade.

Just got my white 126500 today after owning several past steel models, and to me, this is the best by far. I was concerned about the new case losing some sleekness, but the watch wears amazing. I am really glad I went with white, it is amazing. This watch has hype for a reason. It is awesome.

I’ll be in the minority so far and disagree that the 125600 is an upgrade. I still prefer the aesthetics and wear of the older reference. For the white dial, the thinner sub dials and addition of the metal ring makes the watch less appealing. Less sporty and the features that made it stand out have been subdued.

Shocked the case thickness on the newer was slightly bigger on the 12. It had been reported through multiple outlets that the 12 would actually be thinner.

as an owner of both references agree with comments that 126 series is a great upgrade. It needs to be seen in person and on the wrist to truly appreciate the wearability and design changes.

I always loved his videos. His camera work is excellent. He is really infusing his own opinion towards the 12 series even though the measurements he states would support the opposite like dial being smaller on the new reference. Regardless, I find the previous 11 series Daytona more bold and sporty looking to my eye.

I think the dial being smaller on the new reference is even more of a shocker. Between being marginally thicker, a smaller dial, taller lugs and thicker crown guards is what gives the 12 series a chunkier profile.

I thought I was going crazy when I tried on the new 12 series model. I told the SA that it looked and felt thicker and sat taller on the wrist...he assured me that it was much thinner than the outgoing model. I also felt like the dial was smaller or the bezel was bigger (I tried on a TT). Of course as a small wristed person I was also said to verify that the the lug to lug had grown at least 1mm....I know everyone has different opinions, and my opinion is that the 12 series is a major misstep by the crown.

For me I like the thicker subdial rings and chunk of ceramic on the 116500s. with the outter steel ring around the bezel it makes the watch look like many other chronos.

This definitely reinforces the original view for a lot of people that the old 116500 is the better looking version. I'm still waiting for a direct same color comparison video of both new and old white dial Pandas

The outer metal ring was also a bad move in my opinion....too similar to the Speedmaster. I love both watches, but I love both because of the differences (dials/handsets/bezels etc)...adding the bezel ring just doesnt feel right.

Every measurement I've seen of the 12 puts it at 12mm or 11.9mm. I just measured mine at exactly 12mm thick. I'm not sure how he's getting 12.26mm.

Don’t judge the 126500 by photos and videos alone. You have to see in the metal to appreciate. I had doubts til I saw in person.

Does seems like white 116500ln and 126500ln black are the winners for respective models from the video and comments

Now that I have seen and tried on the 126500ln in white and black I think the changes really are improvements, but it is impossible for me to say which I find more appealing. Both are equally stunning in their own way.

I got rid of my 11 Series Submariner, because I did not like the “squared off / bulky looking” Maxi Case …
I traded it for the “round looking / sleek” 12 Series Submariner, and prefer the look of it. Has Rolex done the inverse with the Daytona ? I own the 116500 (Black), and want the White, either the 116500 or 126500 … have they changed the sleek looking 116500 into a bulkier / Maxi Case with the 126500 ?? |

I have both and the verdict is not clear , the 116 looks more like a tool and the 126 is more sophisticated but may be a bit too much !
