I was there in Antigua not too long ago. Nice town.

I did not expect prices for things to be as high as they were. Pretty close to USA prices.

It is true. But prices drop substantially about 7
mins out of Antigua.

I did a street food tour while I was there, and I really enjoyed it

Great shot! I went to Antigua a few years back- one of my favorite places I have visited. Best coffee I have ever had! Enjoy the watch and the trip.

Ok. Serious non watch question. Is it safe? I have considered going there and other old Spanish colonial countries, but get the idea that it’s risky.
Do you travel with a guide or just rent a car and go wherever?

I am fluent in Spanish, would like to visit parts of the antigua Nueva Espańa, and while I like a bit of adventure, I am not into high risk.

Good on you for taking the Rolex!

Not a place I would visit. Violent crime such as extortion, murder, armed robbery, carjacking, narcotics trafficking and gang activity are common in Guatemala.

Being familiar to a lot of places in South America I would not go out of my way to visit Guatemala and if do I’m taking a Casio with me.

It’s an extraordinary place not with risk like any developing nation, or most American cities. I find Situational awareness to be helpful.

If you never take risk then life can be very boring.

I believe this, but feel the risks outweigh the rewards.

Again, good on you for wearing the Rolex!
