Submariner stopped. Any ideas?

New to this forum please forgive me if this is something I could search for. I really don’t know how to word it though.
1999 Submariner has been serviced in the last 5/7 yrs.
It just quit running today. I can shake it and it will sweep for 15 or so seconds and then stop again. Tried winding it. Nothing. I’ve worn it almost every day for 20 something yrs.

The mainspring went on my 11 series Sub Date. Symptoms were same as yours. Fix was easy.

2 for the mainspring - same thing happened to my 2015 submariner (114060). Quick fix at the Service Centre,

I don’t think a broken mainspring is a quick fix at a service centre.

Rolex will do a full service and replace it. RSC must have had their master wizard in the back if it was a quick fix.

Exactly the movement has to be stripped down to get into the spring-barrel although mainspring is not expensive the labour would be so might as well have a full RSC service where mainspring is replaced as part of service.

I've lost two mainsprings on 31 based movements. One was back in two days (AD fix, authorised by RSC by accredited watchmaker using OEM equipment), the Sub Date took three weeks (RSC). Quick enough but admittedly slow compared to taking a watch to a jeweler for a battery change.

My 116610 just came back from Rolex service center in Dallas. Exact same symptoms. Full service was $850. They also replaced worn links on the 6 and 12 o'clock sides for $180 saying they were worn, which I never noticed. Regardless with $65 overnight shipping all in was $1,095.
It came back to my door exactly five weeks after they received it. On another note the crown when fully screwed down used to line up at 9 o'clock position now it is perfectly aligned at 12:00 and to think it only cost me five weeks and $1,100 dollars :)
