Trade advice needed 5140P for 5980A
Quick question- would very much love your thoughts and advice everyone here is so knowledgeable and smart and always give great honest feedback so thanks in advance :-) I have an opportunity to trade my 5140P gray dial beautiful stickers on deployant never have worn it- (ps I just really like my 3940P white dial much better- smaller size, classic, sits better on my wrist- never find time to wear the gray)
I have found a nice 5980a that I have tried on and really like and feel would wear it more as I already have a PC dress watch. Here is the deal. My watch plus 30k for the 5980a is the deal. Both watches are complete- mine is “new” his is like new. I have always wanted a nautilus chrono and love the sporty look and would probably be a daily watch like my 5711 piano. Just feels I am giving up a lot though I do understand that the guy with the watch YOU want holds the cards. Please let me know- any comments good or bad- if you think it’s dumb or I’m a dummy I’d love to hear from you- thank you! |

I’d do it. But that’s bc I don’t find the 5140 to be a particularly compelling watch

I am all for trading away 5140P grey as you have a better watch all around in 3940P already.
Personally I'd get 5968A or G blue over any 5980/1A though. The 5968 size is borderline for me but I think it is the better looking watch. The chrono pushers ruin the symmetry of the Nautilus case and I also prefer the Nautilus thin, so no 5980 or 5990 for me no matter the dial color or metal. |
