Rolex Twinlock

Hi everyone, I would like to know if the Twinlock charging crown is waterproof even if unscrewed? thanks to those who answer me

I’ve heard it is but to what extent I don’t know. I would not want to be the one to test it.

It's not after the seals dry out, I know that from experience. How long does that take? Well... that's the question.

As long as the seals are pliable then the inner seal will maintain its water resistance, just like many of the watches that do not have a screw down crown. When the crown is unscrewed however, lateral pressure may push the stem against the inner o-ring and deform it slightly.

Here are the seals in both the Twinlock and Triplock. You can see the red seal goes around the sealed barrel of the stem-set and is in place whether the crown is up or down.
