Rolex Day-Date 36 President Woven Bracelet?
Hi,
I've come across this 1970's (4 mil serial) DD36 with a woven gold bracelet but I can't find any information about it. Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks |

Very rare, worth more than the watch likely. Called mesh

Only judging from the bracelet numbers, I don't thing the OP's photo depicts a Rolex bracelet.
Nice looking but perhaps an Italian generic 20mm bracelet.

I’m not sure if that bracelet resembles any in the old brochure picture

My general guideline is “I trust David (crowncollection) on these questions.” However, in his travels, David sometimes only has access to a very feeble net connection and small phone screen. Rolex did make a few different types of 18K mesh bracelets, including at least one not shown on that catalog page. I don’t recall having seen this type before, though. If genuine, it probably is indeed worth more than the watch. I’d be interested to learn how confident David is that this is genuine, and to hear others’ thoughts (perhaps an opinion from CTech ?) |

It would be irreplaceable and pricey to reproduce. It’s worth - as is - would be its very weight in gold…

There's also factory white gold versions of these Milanese bracelets.

There are several differences between the OP's bracelet and the ones fitted to the 6611b watches. Some of them are subtle such as the soldering/sealing of the woven mesh where the bracelet end links meet the case and others are quite obvious such as the shape of the gold wire used for the weave. The OP's bracelet seems to have a point at the top of the wire (as if it is woven from square or rectangular section wire) whereas the known genuine 6611b bracelets have flat tops to the wire, possibly because the bracelet has been passed through a roller system to give it a smoother finish. I can't find any other examples that closely resemble either the style or method of manufacture of the OP's bracelet, so I'm of the opinion that the woven sections are aftermarket and have been joined to a genuine clasp. The work looks to be of high quality and it appears to be a very well made bracelet so it is an attractive alternative to the President bracelets and I like the look of it regardless of its originality. |

Same bracelet here, although still doesn't outright state if it's original Rolex
https://www.vwcweb.com/EN/Scheda/346...ecial-bracelet Phillips auction page 113 for the Great Gatsby, which does not look like this bracelet. https://content.phillips.com/catalog...15_catalog.pdf |

Rolex Day-Date 36 President Woven Bracelet?
Reference 8631 has 5 raised sections just like this band near the end links in my reference material and no flattening at the end links or significant smooth lip near
The end links. Irregularities in the shape of the weave can be many years is bad polishing, it’s old and rounded with a few dents also. Should have a big crown logo clasp it’s been replaced. Same Millerighe type bezel. Same band, doesn’t look so flat here and evenly shaped up close ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
