Perhaps an Unpopular Opinion

I feel as though I may be in the minority on this one, but I feel like the Rolex GMT line is way to cluttered. Way too many colors, configurations and metals in my opinion. To me its starting to feel kinda like Omega with options. While I love options, it does not seem very "Rolex-like"

Can never have too many variations for me and still one that I’m sure will be addressed at some point

But if they did not have these variants what would today's Rolex owner have to do, without the silly Nicknames, the MK1,MK2,MK3 stuff and moan about the colour's.

Let’s see what happens at W&W in a few weeks, things might change with some of the line being discontinued.

Hopefully that will make a happy, but maybe they will introduce more colours, configuration and metals, and you will not be happy.

The options don’t bother me, but I have said something similar and could see the Crown streamlining.

Sprite is my first choice, I do really like the Root Beer, Batman and batgirl come in behind the Pepsi , Coke I can take it or leave it … new one the black grey bezel the nickname doesn’t spring to mind .. think it’s the Guiness ?
Anyhoo , Hulk and Smurf close favourites but they are Subs …
Cookie Monster … nope, that’s daft so let’s leave that one out …
Not answered your question, I like variety is what I will say to give colour choices …

Rolex in general has many less variations in their lineups compared to other brands, I don’t consider the GMT line too crowded.
The Datejust is their “watch for everyone” model with probably hundreds of possible combinations, I don’t consider that to be a bad thing either.
Must be a slow day around here.

I actually don't disagree. They also seem to have some focus on the GMT, with a tweak to the catalog every year at Basel/W&W.

There doesn't seem to be as much continuity in the way they approach the market with the GMT vs their other sports watch offerings. (DJ and DD aside, totally different animals)

I don’t disagree.

The GMT line has never excited me, but different strokes are a good thing.

I agree with you. I own the BLRO on Oyster and may be in the minority opinion that the stainless steel lineup is bloated with the VTNR. I think it's nice to have a couple variants in stainless steel, but executing the bicolor bezel in every combination possible just seems sort of foolish. I'd like Rolex to go back to a standard black bezel, BLRO, and BLNR option in steel.

I have always been a Sub man but must admit the new GMTs have peaked my interest and the dual colour combos, esp the TTs have been constructed really well. I think the VTNR was a bit of a populist move on the back of the Green Subs but making it Destro was pretty unique so fair play. All that said, if a Coke, Right VTNR or SS GRNR is released sales will go ballistic.

I always thought it was the Yachtmaster line that was bloated with variations and options.

Kind of with you - bezels with any red/green/blue in them are an aesthetic turn off for me.

I like the TT one with the black & grey bezel though - that’s a very cool watch.

Don't forget the plastic ones. I am surprised Omega has not released a First Timed Bowel Movement in Space (FTBMIS) Speedy.

You could take the Henry Ford approach of offering any color so long that it's black. Personally, I like the GMT options available, and enjoy the various bezel colors.

First ever mention of irn bru on the Rolex forums

The Gulf coloured Tag formula 1 watch was close.

Well also Jub and Oyster variants so it is quite alot of choice, esp compared to Subs now.

GMT should always be bi coloured bezel. Always.

Pepsi/ coke
BLNR
Root beer should be the lot.

All on either oyster or jubilee. Steel/ bi metal / fill gold with meteorite dials for full gold.

For me it's just too chunky. I understand the heft on the Sub as it's a diving watch, but IMO a GMT should be a touch classier with elegant curves and slimmer lugs.

It's all relative, coming from my ROO I find the GMT/Subs svelte and sleek, coming from my Nautilus I find them chunky and flashy. Nice to see them in different lights.

The only GMT Master models I want are BLROs. The other options don't interest me but choice is a good thing in my little universe. The more choices the better.
