Joking aside. Seriously. I firmly believe it should be named “Charcoal” -here’s why. Firstly, the aesthetic. The blending of black and gray mirrors the way charcoal transitions from its rich black core to ash gray. It’s not just a color scheme; it’s a nod to the natural beauty and elegance of charcoal, embodying a sense of organic sophistication. Consider this - Rolex has indeed “burned through” iterations of the GMT, with no less than 11 versions already….. Then, there’s the symbolism. Charcoal represents resilience and endurance. It withstands high temperatures, much like how a Rolex endures time and elements. Naming it “Charcoal” aligns perfectly with the brand’s ethos of durability and timelessness. Lastly, it’s a standout name that captures attention. “Charcoal” is unique and instantly memorable, reflecting the distinctive character of this watch. Rolex Charcoal. It's a diamond in the rough. May not be popular now, but will surely gain traction, and the GMT line shines bright like a diamond in Rolex's catalog.

I’m not taken just yet it might be a slow burner the latest GMT, whatever it’s called, but on Jubilee I think it will look so smart on ..

Call it ‘The Aging Man’ since some men’s hair turns from black to grey. The Aging Man GMT. Flows right off the tongue.

A nickname isn’t just a label; it’s a legacy wrapped around your wrist, turning every glance at the time into a story. These watches aren't just made; they're embraced by the culture that adores them, earning their monikers through stories and significance. They mark moments, define generations, and endure in our memories —forever timeless. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The grey looks like paint primer....maybe we call it the Primer?
Perhaps we could call it the Grey Market....no, that's where you buy Pepsi's.

Not following your logic there. Charcoal is just some crap left over from incomplete combustion of wood, nothing timeless and enduring about it. If you gotta have a name referencing black, Coal maybe. At least coal is millions of years old, durable, and has been the stuff empires and nations have been built on. But "charcoal", never!

Every time Rolex releases a new model, people ALWAYS dislike the looks, but give it a couple of months, and their opinions change.
I call it the power of Rolex marketing, is not what you want, they know what you need. This model looks like a member of the BlACK LANTERNS CORPS. |

I think I'll just call it the GRNR. Put my name down for a jubilee model, let's see what happens. I'm hoping the grey/black is a bit more subtle in neutral lighting.
