Help Identifying my Tudor Watch
Hi, I am looking to identify my old tutor watch that I inherited from my grandfather, he was in the navy and was gifted to him for his 21st birthday in 1941. Its pretty beat up, but any information anyone may have would be lovely.
My grandad died when I was 5 so it's nice to have something he cherished so much. |

You will need to post some good photos. Click on Go Advanced and then Manage Attachments, and follow the instructions to size the photo files correctly.

Are you sure it was 1941? The Tudor name appeared on Rolex dials before that, but I'm pretty sure that this font style and the rose logo only showed up like that after the Tudor Watch Co. was officially established in 1946. From 1946-7 it was a rose inside a shield, then a rose only, like yours, until the 1960s. Do you know where it was bought?

Here's one from 1958 with a similar serial number and same model number (709) as yours.

Think it might be a repaint as the one Adam posted, correctly, has SWISS tucked away at bottom of dial.
This one appears to have nothing there. I'm no expert on these though to say the least !!

Hi, thank you for the information so far,
My great grandmother bought it for him, but no one knows where she bought it from. It was a gift got his 21st in 1941, mu mother and uncle's are convinced it was given to him in 1941, but they could be wrong. What would be the best way to get it restored ? |
