Got the “text” after five years

Got this text today.

“Good Morning! The Daytona is ready for you! Let me know what day works best for you to go, and I’ll let you know who will help you”

Congratulations! Did you have a lot of spend history? Did you think it was coming soon, or was it out of the blue?

Spent $80k, sold back several watches to the same AD at a loss because I don’t wear them much. A few watch repairs. Referred a few clients. Most importantly, I have a good relationship with the owner.

You don't have a good relationship with anyone at that AD. 5 YEARS and the Owner is a personal friend? $80k in spend and sold back at a loss? AND the funny part is that you think you actually have a good relationship with the owner!

I have ZERO spend with 4 different Rolex AD's until I purchased watches from them.

Since August 2020 I've purchased the following with ZERO spend and ZERO previous relationship. The longest that I waited was 6 months for the Sprite. I called one out-of-state AD and 6-weeks later they called and then shipped me the Submariner. I never even went in the store.

GMT Pepsi on Jubilee
Submariner (40mm)
OP 31mm (ladies - turquoise blue dial)
GMT Sprite
Submariner 41mm (126610LV)

But you don’t have a panda from an AD. Big difference from the watches you were able to purchase…..

I don't have a Ferrari either. But I didn't ask for one. Didn't ask for a Panda either. You point?

You are correct. With that said, I would re-evaluate my relationship with that AD.

Congrats and welcome to the 12 series team hahaha …. On the other hand amazing how many haters are just waiting to put some bad vibes into something that it’s not even relevant to their life ….. sometimes this looks like Reddit and that is very bad bad comparison

Such an aggressive post but you’ll probably say, ‘I’m just pointing out that you don’t have a good relationship’ yet no one asked you. Wild.

I'm always interested in hearing about members journeys to getting a hard to get piece. Finally we have someone who shared his personal experience and spend history with us, only to be mocked by some. What a shame.

Congrats on the Daytona. It looks great on your wrist.

I didn't ask you either. Yet here we are. See how that works?

Aggressive? No. Direct? Blunt? YES!!! Someone sure needs to point out to this gentleman that his "friend" isn't so friendly.

That 5 year wait worked out in your favor, cause instead of getting an 11 series Daytona, you got a 12 series Daytona! Enjoy your purchase and wear in good health.
