1803 - Is it a reasonable price??

Do you think a Day-Date Pres 1803 in WG for 8K is a reasonable price? Mind you it has a leather strap and I would eventually want to source a period correct WG bracelet for it. I am thinking just at cursory search, the bracelet would run me 4-6k additional. Oh it is a box and papers watch (seems crazy that someone kept the B&P but not the bracelet lol). Thoughts??

I think this one should only cost 6-7k because 8k is too expensive anyway unless you have all the documents.

The Day-Dates were available on a leather strap - not all of them came on a bracelet.

There was a similar thread a few weeks ago about WG 1803 watches on leather straps:

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?p=13268624

The general view seemed to be that it was unwise to buy such a watch on a leather strap with a view to getting a WG President bracelet later, as it is very rare to find any suitable WG bracelets for sale.

It was also pointed out that buying the watch without the bracelet is only a good plan if you know you will wear it on a leather strap the entire time you have the watch.

This makes good sense to me as I've looked at YG 1803 watch heads many times and tried unsuccessfully each time to find a suitable period correct, good condition bracelet.

If it's very difficult to find a suitable YG bracelet, I would guess it's much worse to find a genuine WG one.

Interested in the same watch but always held back by the leather strap too. What year is it? And what dial color. Seems cheaper than anything seen on Chrono24 but many factors go into pricing/value.

Head only 8-10K on a plain dial. Bracelet 7-9k. Complete watches can be had in the 16-20 k range.

A loose WG bracelet won't be easy or cheap to find for an 1803.

This does not seem like a very good deal. I have an 1803 on leather and I wear it as a dress watch. If you desire a bracelet, buy them together.

The 1803 looks fantastic on leather.

But it’s going to be far easier, and probably cheaper, to buy one complete with bracelet.

If your heart is set on a bracelet, you won’t be satisfied with leather.
