New Rolex straps?

Anyone able to shed any light on this?

https://ppubs.uspto.gov/dirsearch-pu...adPdf/D1015919

Looks like some form of Nato strap patented by Rolex earlier this year.

Patent cites these two links as well:

First I’ve ever heard of it.

I wonder if I’ll be able to swap one at my AD for a jubilee or an oyster

It looks similar to the Sport Loop band on Apple Watches. If this is happening, then it would be a very comfortable option for summer.

Notice how it has sleeves over the spring bars too, really smart and thoughtful design, I'd be all over this

I wonder if we’d all have to wait for an allocation….

No Velcro please. If that is Velcro, I can’t see them doing it. They don’t even want to do leather straps.

If there is in fact a sleeve around the spring bars, then why even have a nato pass through underneath? It would make more sense to just have a two piece nato, which would keep the profile slim anyway.

This would mean coming up with a way to connect the (presumably metal) sleeve with the Nato strap I suppose. The sleeve done this way would prevent the weight of the watch solely relying on the ends of the spring bars, and would distribute the forces across the inner faces of the sleeves. The downside being the watch wears a little higher on the wrist.

Looks like the watch used in the picture has bevelled edges too… I wonder if this is related to the titanium Yacht-Master

Or with Tudor... Rolex x Tudor... since we ran out of ideas and Tudor too!

This would be cool on the Yatchmaster 42 titanium.

Its about time Rolex had an in house NATO style option.

But please not Velcro.........

First link does state milanese mesh magnetic band.

That would be much worse.

Does that Rolex patent look real for $16.95?

It mentions a metal mesh/milanese strap with magnetic clasp. Very interesting.

Oof well spotted!

Looks like this has the metal loop that shows in the patent as well

I’d be very surprised if this made it into catalogue production now, after seeing that

A $15 strap that becomes $1000 because it has the Rolex logo on it.

With that said, I do like the strap.
